What channel should TV be on to view DVD?

This depends on the connector, and the manufacturer of the TV. If it's an RF-type connector (check the link for a picture), then you'll use Channel 3 or 4.

If it's an RCA jacks you're connecting to (yellow, white, & red in the pic), then use the INPUT or TV/VIDEO button on your TV remote and look for AUX1 or AUX2, or maybe just INPUT.

If they are jacks that look like RCA jacks but are green, blue, and red, look for COMPONENT or CMP in the listing.

Can regular DVD's be played on Blu-ray DVD's?

A Blu ray player will play a standard DVD (as long as the region code is compatible).

You should check your Blu ray player for upscaling capability (with upscaling, the Blu ray player will deliver the highest possible quality even from standard DVD's - otherwise you will only get full performance from Blu ray discs).

How do you wireless connect samsung Blu-ray player to belkin router?

It may not be easy.

My assumption is that you want to listen to the TV without disturbing others in the room. This requires that your headphone connection should either cut off the TV's sound through the speakers, or should be independent of the TV's sound volume setting.

Many TVs have a sound jack, but not all of them cut off the speakers when a plug is inserted. The easiest way to hook up your wireless headphones to the TV is to plug the input to the transmitter into the TV's sound jack. But this will require the sound to be played at an audible level, and if the jack does not cut off the sound to the speakers, you may disturb others.

Some TVs have left-right sound outputs on the back or bottom of the set, usually marked with red and white jacks. If your TV has these, plug the transmitter for your wireless headphones into these jacks. They should be independent of the TV volume controls. But many TVs do not have sound outputs.

Finally, if you are watching TV through some device (like a blu-ray player) you may be able to plug the headphone transmitter into the player's stereo outputs. But if you're watching live sports, this won't help.

Can a blu-ray DVD be played on an HD DVD player?

No. An HD DVD will only play on an HD DVD player. This format was released in competition with BluRay. It lost the battle after about one year and was withdrawn from sale. There are few HD DVD players and discs around and none have been made for a number of years.

the demise of the HD DVD video format should not come as a surprise when the two formats are compared and closely examined. First, the quality of both in terms of picture and sound are a huge step up from a regular DVD in resolution. However, when further investigating Blu-Ray, the storage capacity is four times greater than that of High Definition DVD. In my opinion, this is perhaps the largest deal breaker for High Definition DVD.

Unless the disc has some sentimental value, there is probably little point in retaining it.

If you have 2 DVD recorders can you hook both of them up to the same TV and play a DVD on the DVD player while you record what you are playing on the other DVD recorder?

Yes, although you may need to get a switch to select which recorder you want to watch.

The easiest solution is if your DVRs both have HDMI outputs, and the TV has 2 or more HDMI inputs. You simply select the DVR you want to watch by choosing the appropriate HDMI input. Similarly, if one DVR has an HDMI output and the other has component or composite outputs, you can also switch units by choosing the appropriate input on your TV.

If your TV does not have enough HDMI inputs (or none) then you may need to get a switching box that will allow you to connect two devices with composite or component outputs to a TV with only one set of inputs.

Can scratched dvds damage a DVD or Blu-ray player?

No. Nothing touches the disc, only laser light.

If left in the machine trying to play it, it may make noises as the sled tries to track the damaged disc, but this would only cause normal wear to the moving parts, same as an undamaged disc.

How many amps does 40 flat screen LCD television use?

Approximately 1.625 Amps per hour if plugged into the wall. Wattage is equal to Volts x Amps. In my case, my 40" Samsung LCD uses 195 watts, and at 12 volts(for a deep cycle battery), that would be using about 16.25 amps per Hour. I was trying to figure out how long an 80 watt solar panel could power my tv. With a fully charged 55 AmpHour battery, it could probably stay on 3 hours. Don't forget though, you don't really want to drain a battery past 50% because going lower decreases the life of the battery. So figure about 1.5 hours for a 195 watt tv at 12 volts on a deep cycle. For outputs from the wall, I think it's 120 volts, so 195 divided by 120 is 1.625 amps per hour. You might think since there are less amps there is less power, but amps isn't power, watts is. Current is measured in amps. Since there is a higher voltage, there needs to be less current. Think of it like a river. When the water gets deep and the river wide, the current flows slowly but there is still the same amount of water passing through. When the river is shallow and fast, there is also the same amount of water passing through even though the current is faster. I know it's kind of confusing because all the components are tied together, but after a while, you will understand it.
