This happened to me and there is a switch on the back of our DVD player for Progressive Scan. It had been switched on sometime and I merely switched it to "off" and the screen corrected itself. Hope this helps.

this probably occurred due to the fact that not all DVD players are designed the same. i have a number of DVDs in my DVD library which states on the DVD storage case that some features may not play in all DVD players. therefore, it depends on which brand of DVD player you have. if you continue to experience difficulty playing your DVDs, i would suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your DVD player for advice to your problem.

That will be probably the problem of the settings of the DVD player.. I think changing the output to PAL or NTSC (try both) might help. I assure you that your LCD tv doesnt have a problem coz unlike the CRT the colour element cant be driven off from the LCD as the concepts are basically totally different.. Try changing the settings of the DVD player..

Digital TV is certainly better for watching a Bluray disc for one very simple reason. Bluray players normally have two types of output, one is HDMI (the digital output) and the other will be component or composite (the analog outputs).

For a variety of reasons, the high definition signal is only available on the HDMI output. One of the main reasons is that HDMI signals can be encoded to prevent the content being copied. The analog outputs cannot be protected in the same way and will only provide a standard definition signal. Although analog signals can deliver HD signals, manufacturers do not offer the facility.


Therefore, although an analog TV can display a Bluray disc, it will only ever be in standard definition. To experience full resolution, the TV must have an HDMI connector which of course means that the television is a digital model. The TV should also be HD capable to obtain the best quality.

to watch 3d you have to have a 3d source such as a 3d hd channel from an hd tuner, or of course the 3d blu-ray. You can't just plug in a composite connector and get 3d. You have to have higher quality hdmi cables and 3d shutter glasses.

No, Toshiba's firmware in their blu-ray players makes it so you need their proprietary wireless adapter. Sort of a rip-off since I can't find one for less than $80. I moved my cable modem & wireless access point next to my blu-ray so I can connect them with a cat-5 cable, instead of shill out more bucks than I paid for the blu-ray.
