What can you do if you have trouble recording your stored DVR selections to a DVD disc?

Many of the programs that you see on television are now copy protected and carry much the same protection as found on the commercial DVD's that you purchase. IN the past, I've even had the recording shut off on my computer while recording something directly from the satellite receiver. I really shouldn't be telling you this, but if you can find yourself a Sima brand `GoDVD' unit and use the composite audio and video connections from the DVR to your computer, you can generally make the thing work. One word of caution though. YOU are responsible for violating copyright laws if you copy or duplicate copywritten material. I'm just giving you this information for educational purposes only. (After all, I'm a technician and it's my job to know this stuff.) If you cant record anything new: * Make sure your disc is not write-protected. Check your owners manual for more information about unlocking your disc. * Make sure you arent trying to record copyrighted material. If you are trying to record copyrighted material, Copy Protected may be displayed on some DVRs. If you schedule a recording and it doesnt record: * Double check the time and channel you set to record. Review your manufacturers manual for detail instructions for scheduling a record. * Verify the time set on the clock. I know this seems trivial, but if your time is off it wont record! My disc isnt compatible with another DVD player * Is your recording long enough? * Is your disc finalized? Where can I get help with my DVR hardware? If you need help with your DVR hardware, visit your DVR manufacturers web site to locate tutorials, FAQs or a support center phone number. Some of the common DVR manufacturers include: Note: This is not a complete list of DVR manufacturers. This list only serves as a starting place for your research. DVD which you can only get sound but played else were and it played fine why?

this probably occurred due to the fact that not all DVD players are designed the same. i have a number of DVDs in my DVD library which states on the DVD storage case that some features may not play in all DVD players. therefore, it depends on which brand of DVD player you have. if you continue to experience difficulty playing your DVDs, i would suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your DVD player for advice to your problem.

You just finally got a new 46 samsung lcd tv you hooked up your DVD player and tried to watch a movie but it is only playing in black and white - no color what did you do wrong?

That will be probably the problem of the settings of the DVD player.. I think changing the output to PAL or NTSC (try both) might help. I assure you that your LCD tv doesnt have a problem coz unlike the CRT the colour element cant be driven off from the LCD as the concepts are basically totally different.. Try changing the settings of the DVD player..

Is a digital tv better to play blu ray dvds through?

Digital TV is certainly better for watching a Bluray disc for one very simple reason. Bluray players normally have two types of output, one is HDMI (the digital output) and the other will be component or composite (the analog outputs).

For a variety of reasons, the high definition signal is only available on the HDMI output. One of the main reasons is that HDMI signals can be encoded to prevent the content being copied. The analog outputs cannot be protected in the same way and will only provide a standard definition signal. Although analog signals can deliver HD signals, manufacturers do not offer the facility.

Therefore, although an analog TV can display a Bluray disc, it will only ever be in standard definition. To experience full resolution, the TV must have an HDMI connector which of course means that the television is a digital model. The TV should also be HD capable to obtain the best quality.

Do I need a Blu-ray player to watch 3D movies even though I already have a Sony 3D TV?

to watch 3d you have to have a 3d source such as a 3d hd channel from an hd tuner, or of course the 3d blu-ray. You can't just plug in a composite connector and get 3d. You have to have higher quality hdmi cables and 3d shutter glasses.

Can you set up a wireless connection for your bdx-2200 Blu-ray player without the wlm-10nb1 usb?

No, Toshiba's firmware in their blu-ray players makes it so you need their proprietary wireless adapter. Sort of a rip-off since I can't find one for less than $80. I moved my cable modem & wireless access point next to my blu-ray so I can connect them with a cat-5 cable, instead of shill out more bucks than I paid for the blu-ray.

Can component cables give you 1080p quality standard?

"Component cables" normally refer to a set of three cables that carry analog television signals. There is an HD format for analog component signals but it does not support 1080p, only 1080i and 720p.

In addition, equipment being sold from 2009 onwards does not support analog HD. Commercial pressure from program producers has resulted in HDMI being the only HD interface that is commonly available. HDMI supports content encryption to prevent copying of HD content and has replaced virtually all analog HD interfaces.
