I have an iomega prestige 1tb hard drive that wiil not play thru my Magnavox dvd player it is formatted to ntfs what format do I need

If MRI data is stored on tape, then it can't be played on any disc player. If the data is formatted as a television signal and then stored on a DVD, it is quite possible that the images can be played to a television.

ALL DVD's created are either burned with NTSC, which is what we use here in the US (All of the DVD players sold here are equipped to play NTSC-format DVD's) or with PAL, which is what they use in Europe. The DVD players in the US cannot play DVDs from Europe and vise versa because they are not formatted to play each kind of disc.

There probably are some computer programs (which are pretty expensive) that can play a European DVD on a computer. But there is no way to play a European DVD on a normal DVD player in the US.

Next to the PAL/NTSC reason, DVDs (& BluRay's) have a zone number (retail and rental DVDs! A DVD player can (normally) only play the DVDs with the zone number from the region/country you bought it in.

This regionalization is artificial and is due to a code put on, by the manufacturer. This is to preserve copyright for different countries.

The DVD zone is mentioned on the backside of your cover and on your disc. You can also buy a DVD region 0 player which can play all regions but some DVDs are protected from these players.

Some DVD players can be converted to play all regions. This is a software patch sometimes invoked by special, secret, sequence of button pushes on the remote control. Generally cheaper, unbranded machines can do this. Google 'region hack' for the make of machine you have.

It doesn't stand for anything. Blu-ray is the name given by Sony to Blu-ray discs and players which provide high-definition video and audio.

DVD/VCR combo players are better used at home. These machines are somewhat big and bulky, and therefore they are not really very portable like a regular small DVD player is.

Usually as long as you have it stored on your DVR, and just like a VCR, you can watch it over and over again. I have some recordings that have been stored on my DVR for over two years, and they still play. Just be sure to `protect` your recording so that the DVR doesn't record over it if the drive is close to being full.

LG's Spec on their web site says you can play PAL/NTSC DVD's but if the area code says region 2 then you are out of luck.

I phoned LG their reply yes you can play region's 2 NTSC (Japan).

Place the cursor on where you want to bookmark to be placed. Locate the New Bookmark option in the Controls option in the menu bar of the application your viewing the DVD on. Depending on the application, you will be asked to name the bookmark, press enter to save. The process differs with each application so check the help documentation.

A DVD player drawer that is stuck open or partly open quite often has been pushed on one of its corners, not in the middle toclose it. The result is that the drawer is slightly sideways with respect to the grooved slides that it travels in, causing the drawer to wedge tightly where it is.

You can try finding the corner of the drawer that is farthest into the grooved slides, and pull it firmly out a tiny amount. Don't push your luck . . . you may break the drawer.

If that doesn't work, try removing the top of the player by taking out a number of screws. Then you can look right down on the entire drawer mechanism, and it is usually easy to gently wiggle the drawer around until it clicks back into place.

yes, a blue ray player will work with a digital converter, I'm a electronics tech in business 5o years.

It isn't playing it in wide screen because the films original aspect ratio was in fullscreen so basically bambi was never made into widescreen format for the blu ray release.

In most cases you are unable to hookup a Blu-Ray or DVD player through a DISH receiver since they only have outputs, and no inputs.

If your Blu-Ray player does have an input, all you would have to do is run a cable from the receiver to the input on the Blu-Ray device, then from the device in to your TV. Make sure it's on the correct input and you're good to go.

The modern abbreviation for DVD is Digital Versatile Disc . In the past, the abbreviation of DVD simply meant Digital Video Disc.

Honest best answer? Buy another one. Why, because it sounds like you damaged your display screen and believe me, it's not worth repairing. Just too expensive, even if you could get the parts.
