Why is the air temperature over an asphalt parking lot is higher than over an adjacent grassy field?
There are lots of factors that contribute to this answer, so I will just list a few.
Grass is "bright" in color.
How does the changing of the earth surface affect the pathway of water?
The changing of Earth's surface, such as deforestation or urbanization, can alter the natural flow of water. It can lead to increased runoff, erosion, and sedimentation, affecting the pathway of water by influencing how water moves and is absorbed through the landscape. This can have implications for flooding, water quality, and the health of aquatic ecosystems.
What are two branches of earth science that rely heavily on other areas?
Meteorology relies heavily on physics and computer science to understand weather patterns and make more accurate predictions. Geology heavily relies on chemistry to study the composition and properties of rocks and minerals.
What would happen if everyone on earth lit a match at the same time Blew it out at the same time?
If everyone on Earth lit a match at the same time and then blew it out simultaneously, there would be a brief flicker of light followed by an immediate darkness. The collective sound of blowing out the matches might be audible in a quiet environment, but otherwise, there would be no significant impact beyond the visual and auditory experience.
What happen to the parts of earth as a globe turn?
As the Earth rotates on its axis, different parts of the planet experience day and night. This is caused by the rotation of the Earth which exposes certain areas to sunlight while others are in darkness. Additionally, the rotation of the Earth affects the direction of winds and ocean currents, influencing global weather patterns.
What are the three theories on the origin of the earth?
The three main theories on the origin of the Earth are the nebular hypothesis, the giant impact hypothesis, and the core accretion theory. The nebular hypothesis proposes that the solar system formed from a rotating cloud of dust and gas, while the giant impact hypothesis suggests that Earth formed from a collision between a Mars-sized protoplanet and the early Earth. The core accretion theory posits that planets formed from the gradual accumulation of solid particles in a protoplanetary disk.
How are waterfalls an advantage?
Waterfalls can provide various advantages such as generating hydroelectric power, creating natural habitats for wildlife, and enriching the surrounding soil with nutrients from the cascading water. Additionally, waterfalls can be a source of recreational activities and contribute to the aesthetic beauty of an environment.
What are the 8 motions of the earth and the meaning?
The eight motions of the Earth are rotation, revolution, precession, nutation, axial tilt, orbital inclination, apsidal precession, and proper rotation. These motions contribute to phenomena such as day and night (rotation), changing seasons (axial tilt), and variations in the position of the Earth's axis and orbit over time (precession and apsidal precession).
Why are the spheres are important?
Spheres are important because they represent a shape that is uniform in all dimensions, making them useful in various fields such as physics, mathematics, and chemistry. Their symmetry simplifies calculations and modeling, and they are commonly used to represent objects or systems that have uniform distributions or properties. Additionally, spheres have aesthetic appeal and are often found in art and architecture for their visual harmony.
What changes thoughout night and day?
During the night, the amount of light decreases as the sun sets, making it darker and cooler. As day breaks, the sun rises, bringing more light and warmth to the environment. Additionally, wildlife and human activity often change with the transition from night to day.
It's a nineteenth century idea about the segregation of the two spheres of life: the public and the private. The husband (or men in general) was in charge of the public side of life while the wife (or women in general) was in charge of the private side of life. This meant that the man went to work, voted, participated in civics while the women cooked, raised the children, and took care of other domestic duties.
This dualism is idealized, as no one really lived completely in the private or public. Upper class women were far more public than private, and low class women were far more public than private too. But both in different ways.
Gender historians have picked up on this idea to explain male power over women.
Hope this helps.

I have to disagree with this answer. The ideology of separate spheres came about in the 18th century. It occured due to the formation of the 'middling sort' (the predecessor of the middle classes, which appeared in the 19th century). This new middling sort came about due to an increase in Englands wealth (they were the nouveau riche). Thus, the male and female roles of the middling sorts and elites became defined due to more leisure time and social expectations. Women became part of the private sphere and men part of the public sphere. However, this was not truly the case, the two separate spheres would often overlap to create a Venn diagram effect.
It is important to note that gender/separate spheres were linked to the middling sorts and elites. Historians have managed to miss a whole demographic (lower classes) because of this. However, this seems to be changing and the use of this term does not sit so favourably with modern historians. Arguably, this comes down to the interest in women's and gender history, which has re-interpreted the written history which has gone before.
Why does the sun rise from north east in summers and south east in winter?
The sun doesn't rise directly from the north east in summers or south east in winter. However, in the northern hemisphere, during summer the sun rises more to the northeast and sets more to the northwest, while in winter it rises more to the southeast and sets more to the southwest due to the tilt of Earth's axis causing the sun's apparent position to change throughout the year.
What is neutron star crust made of?
The crust of a neutron star is primarily composed of heavy elements like iron and nickel. As the star cools, these elements solidify into a solid lattice structure. Additionally, the crust may also contain other materials like silicon and magnesium.
How many percent of the total water on earth is saline?
Approximately 97% of the total water on Earth is saline, found in oceans and seas. This saline water is not suitable for drinking or irrigation without desalination processes.
Why are you evacuated during an acid spill?
in a lab, an acid spill is considered dangerous. as with any spills it is slippery and the acid may splash here and there. so in order for people to not slip on the acid and hurt themselves physically and chemically, it is recommended to evacuate the laboratory immediately until given permission to come back in.
What percentage of the earth is made up of gold?
If you would have to count that gold was created under the earth and that it is found mostly not as a whole but as bits and pieces like powder its likely to be around 7%, for people who disagree with me put this to consideration look at the mass of the earth and every thing it holds firstly you might think that the how come only 7% because your forgetting how thin the crust of the earth is and how the many other kinds of gems and crystals are created under the earth plus that you can only find gold on the crust and a little on the core look at the vast ocean and if that's not enough look at thee mass of the mantle their see as you think of considering the answer think of the mass of the objects around it.
Why is knowing the tilt of the earth's axis important?
Knowing the tilt of the Earth's axis is important because it causes the change in seasons. This tilt is responsible for the variations in sunlight and temperature differences that create summer and winter. Understanding the tilt helps in predicting climate patterns and agricultural seasons.
Is the any ability of water on earth?
Yes, water plays a crucial role on Earth, supporting life by serving as a vital component for many biological processes. It also helps regulate the planet's temperature through its capacity to retain and release heat, contributing to climate systems. Water is essential for various ecosystems, transportation, agriculture, and plays a significant role in shaping landscapes through erosion.
Why does the study of earth science involved many different sciences?
The earth has many scientific things to discover!
Why metals are found from earths core?
Metals are found in the Earth's core because during the Earth's formation, heavy metals such as iron and nickel sank towards the center due to their high density. This process, called planetary differentiation, led to the concentration of metals in the core while lighter elements rose to form the Earth's mantle and crust.
Which is bigger habitat or territory?
A habitat is generally larger than a territory. A habitat refers to the specific environment where a particular species lives, whereas a territory is the area that an individual or group defends for feeding, mating, or raising young within that habitat.
Why does India have huge amounts of rain during monsoon season?
India receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season due to the presence of the Indian Ocean to the south, which brings moisture-laden winds that travel over the country. The seasonal reversal of winds, known as the monsoon winds, also plays a key role in bringing the rainfall. The heat and topography of the region further contribute to the intense rainfall during this time.
