What is major minor losses in a flow through pipe?

losses. In other words, the losses that occur in pipelines due to bends, elbows, joints, valves, etc. are sometimes called minor losses.In case of a very long pipe, these losses are usually insignificant in

comparison to the fluid friction in the length considered. But In case of short pipes,

these minor losses may actually be major losses such as in suction pipe of a pump

with strainer and foot valves.

Is it better to have a high or low resistance across a circuit breaker?

A circuit breaker is supposed to protect the more valuable component the circuit is connected to. Too low a resistance, a minor glitch (spike) will break the circuit and stop the device from working. Too high a resistance, no glitches, no matter how large (a child sticking a paper clip into the wall sockets, for example), will break the circuit and the device (child) may get damaged. Each circuit will have a purpose (power load), and the circuit breaker should be chosen for that purpose with some tolerance. A free standing closed circuit breaker should have no resistance across its internal contacts. The main purpose of a circuit breaker is to protect the conductors that supply the load. If the current going to the load becomes greater that the amperage rating of the wire the circuit will open thereby saving the conductors from damage. Once the load current is below the wire rating ampacity, the breaker can be reset for normal operation.

In the sixties it was all manualy adjusted then seventies some adjustments were moved to the cab. Eighties more adjustments were moved into the cab but you still had to moniter the dirt in the grain and how much grain was being lost. The nineties brought sensors tracking the amount of grain lost and it can be adjusted in the cab. The newest models have sensors and adjustments all connected to a computer and the computer tracks grain loss and makes adjustments without operator imput.

What is the working principle of chiller?

A chiller plant normally consists of evaporator pumps, chillers, condenser pumps, and cooling towers.

The evaporator pumps pump chilled water out to the building through a water pipe loop to air handler units that use valves to vary the amount of chilled water to that unit's water coil to control the temperature of the air coming out of the unit. Thus added heat back into the water that goes back to the plant.

The return water from the building goes to the evaporator side of the chillers & they cool it back down, transferring the heat to the condenser side of the chillers, which is a separate water loop.

The condenser pumps pump the condenser water out to the cooling towers, which are outside. The water is pumped to the top of the tower & then rains down inside it. There are big fans on the top of the tower that pulls air through the tower, thus across the raining water & blows it outside. This water pools up at the bottom of the tower & is sucked back into the building to run through the condenser side of the chillers again, thru removing the heat from the building.
