I am sorry but it could have been an early miscarriage. I also had one, and found out in nearly 50% of early pregnancies they end in miscarriage, and many times before the women even knows she is pregnant.
Who invented the first home pregnancy test?
Taken from wikipedia. "History A physician administers a urine test in The Doctor's Visit by Jan Steen. [3] [4] [5]The ancient Egyptians watered bags of wheat and barley with the urine of a possibly pregnant woman. Germination indicated pregnancy, and based on what type of grain sprouted they predicted the gender of the fetus. Hippocrates suggested that a woman who had missed her period should drink a solution of honey in water at bedtime. Resulting abdominal distention and cramps would indicate the presence of a pregnancy. Avicenna and many physicians after him in the Middle Ages performed uroscopy, a nonscientific method to evaluate urine. Selmar Aschheim and Bernhard Zondek introduced testing based on the presence of hCG in 1928. In their test an infantile female mouse was injected subcutaneously with urine of the person to be tested, and some time later the mouse was sacrificed. Presence of ovulation indicated that the urine contained hCG and meant that the person was pregnant. A similar test was developed using immature rabbits, the rabbit test. Here, too, it was necessary to kill the animal to check its ovaries. An improvement arrived with the frog test that was still used in the 1950s. A female frog was injected with serum or urine of the patient. If the frog produced eggs within the next 24 hours, the test was positive. In the frog test, the animal remained alive, and could be used again." So I guess if you just look at that, Selmar and Bernhard made the first home test, but the egyptians were doing it up natural style centuries ago.
Cervical mucous isn't a good way to tell if you are pregnant or not, some woman have lots of cervical mucous and others don't have as much that shows. I'm pregnant and sometimes I have a lot, sometimes not much and some days I'm dry. Also, I took a test the day my period was due and it was negative the next day it was a faint +, I skipped a day and when my period was 4 days late I got a dark + and a "pregnant" on the Clear Blue Easy didgital. So don't be discouraged if at first it is negative and because of cervical mucous.
You're probably having a bio-chemical pregnancy...a natural early miscarriage. Sorry!
It is not considered abnormal for periods to be late without being pregnant so if the test are negative you probably are not pregnant. for some people just the stress of worry can be enough to cause this to happen. never the less it would probably be a good idea to get the advice of a doctor on this.
Can PCOS affect pregnancy test results?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 6 months. I have pcos, although its semi-mild. Since I've started keeping track of my periods, they've all been on time, down to the actual day. Untill now. I'm ten days late. And I had these awkward pelvic pains one day after we made love. I've taken 5 dollar store tests (trying not to spend alot of money on what could be just a scare!) they are all negative. But today, I noticed my shirt was wet, and looked down and there was a spot on my shirt from where my nipple was leaking. Theres no other explanation. I'm a perfectly healthy young woman!...why else would it do that, any suggestions here?
If you took one test and it came out positive, but your levels are dropping and a second test came back negative, then I would say no. But if you really want to know I would go to the doctors office and have them do a blood test to see if you are pregnant.
its possible to be pregnant or stressed out or even having irregular periods. see your doctor.
How old must you be to purchase a at home pregnancy test?
You can be any age. And usually the people don't ask your age, so it doesn't matter how old you are.
"Unfortunately breast milk cannot be used to perform a pregnancy test. Breast milk does not occur until after the birth of the baby. Colostrum is the clear or milk coloured discharge from the nipples. This can also be a indication of too much progesterone, milk duct infection or a hormonal imbalance when its not pregnancy related. Breast milk does not contain HCG. The best method of testing is a blood test." If you are nursing, hcg can leak into breastmilk like it does into urine. It might leak into breastmilk first, and thus not enough be in the urine to show on a hpt. Now, as hpt's aren't designed to be used with breastmilk, it may also be a funky false positive...I would recommend getting a blood test. (I'm in the same boat...)
Are really cheap pregnancy tests accurate?
It does not matter what type of pregnancy test you take. They are all the same. But if you think that you are pregnant and your test turns out to be negative, i would go and see your doctor as soon as possible. Walmart has pregacy test that are $5.00 ad work really well.
Had hcg 5000 IU injection 14 days back when can you take a pregnancy test?

Can a pregnancy test show positive if only one week pregnant?
No. If you are one week pregnant, technically you will not have missed your period yet. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period. So during week one, you are on your period.
The pregnancy will usually be detectable around week 3. That is when the egg meets the sperm and implantation occurs. Once the ovum (egg/sperm) has implanted, your body will start creating the hormone HCG (that's what the pregnancy tests are looking for).
The reason it's best to take a hpt with your first morning urine is because the hormone produced at this stage is still not very much and as the first urine is much more concentrated there will be more hormone in it than in the watery urine later in the dayand also wait until you missed your period to test or there won't be enough hormone. If you are still unsure then you should go to your doctor and take a blood test ----best of luck
you might be pregnant, but i doubt it. the symptoms were probably just pms, and if you were worried/excited that you might be pregnant, the stress could have delayed your period. if you dont get your period by the end of the week , take another test - if you are pregnant you may have just tested too early. if you still think you are pregnant , but still get a negative result, see your dr.
I have had three positive urine pregnancy tests and a negative blood test which is corrct?
I had the same thing happen to me. I took several home pregnancy tests that came back positive. I went to the doctor they did a blood test and it came back as negative. They sent me to hospital to do a 48 hour hormone test and determined I was miscarraging the baby. You should ask your doctor if this is hapening to you. Hope this helps.
Is it possible for a urine pregnancy test to come out negative but the person to be pregnant?
Yes it is possible. It could be that your body isn't producing a high enough hcG percentage to show up on a home test. You can either wait a week and try again or go to a doctor and have a blood test done. Its hard to determne pregnancy on symptoms alone since so many are also related to PMS but if you are trying to conceive I wish you good luck.
Can vitamins effect a pregnancy test?
No vitamins do not dilute a drug screen. Vitamins B2 & B6 are included, however, in the detox drinks designed to pass any urinalysis (they impart a yellow color to the urine). The best ones on the market that I have found can be seen and read about here : http://theextrastuff.com/ModShop/ShowCategory/
