On April 1, 2001, a mid-air collision between a United States Navy EP-3E ARIES II signals surveillance aircraft and a People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) J-8II interceptor fighter jet resulted in an international dispute between the United States and the People's Republic of China (PRC) called the Hainan Island incident. Collision occurred about 70 miles (110 km) away from the PRC-controlled island of Hainan.

Actually, they are really quite different, but both aircraft are seeking to gain advantage by making themselves harder to spot on radar. The Stealth fighter takes this to the limit of current technology, but the Eurofighter (Typhoon in RAF service) seeks to be highly manoeuverable too, and does not have the same dependence on 'stealth' technology.

Answer Fighter jets have a very pointed nose so it will penetrate the air. Fighters built during the 1950's and 1960's sometimes had a very long rod that protruded in front of the aircraft. More modern aircraft have shorter ones. It is possible that some of these had ports in it that was used by the aircraft's instruments to measure the air pressure and calculate the airspeed. However, usually they did not, to the best of my knowledge. The point was espeically important as the aircraft passed through the sound barrier. As the jet flew faster, a shock-wave in the shape of a cone was developed on this point. The faster the jet flew the cone got smaller. The long point allowed the shock wave to be far enough ahead of the aircraft so that it would not interfer with the larger fuselage of the jet, thus allowing faster super-sonic speeds. When I was a young boy, I remember a friend thought these long points on the front jet was used to stab the enemy soldiers. Ha. If you're referring to the rod-like protruberance from the tip of the nose, that is called a Pitot tube, which measures the aircrafts air speed.

There were 2 Corsair's, the F4U in WW2, and the A-7 Corsair 2 of Vietnam period. Both are American aircraft.

You can't. They were ordered to be scrapped once they were taken out of military service. The only export customer of the F-14 was Iran, and the US Tomcats were scrapped in order to alleviate the possibility of spare parts from those aircraft going to the Iranians.

Interceptor planes and reconnaissance fighter planes have 2 pilots...the 2nd pilot is the navigator..he is in charge of the intercept radar (hes in charge of tracking the target and making the fastest flight path to it), taking pictures for reconnaissance or even "painting" targets for air strikes and sending them to a bomber and such...planes like the F 16 or F 22 are design to be scrambled ASAP and only to fight, have 1 pilot...

Most of the later French, British and German aircraft were very good. It is almost impossible to say who had better planes as so much depended on the pilot's skill and experience.

Mirage 2000 were modified with laser guided bombs, to destroy PAK position on the hills. Also MIG-27 was used for Reconnaissance mission and MIG -21 was used for some other purpose.

the ammount of fuel a fighter jet uses depends on they type of aircraft EG. how many engines, how big they are ect. for example the SR-71A blackbird uses around 3.6 kilalitres of fuel an hour

It can carry a variety of bombs or missiles on it's pylons. A fairly normal load would be an ALQ jamming pod, 2 Sidewinders, 2 Maverick missiles and up to 8 500 pound bombs. The weapons mix can be changed to many configurations.

The prototype YF-12A version of the SR-71 was about 114 ft. long, which is much bigger than the F-14. Technically the largest fighter plane in history (an aircraft designed to engage another airborne object) was the Boeing YAL-1, a heavily modified 747 armed with a massive high powered laser intended to shoot down incoming ballistic missiles (no, I'm not kidding). Only one was ever built and the project was cancelled in 2014.
