JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography (image). The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

The Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a bitmap image format that was introduced by CompuServe in 1987 and has since come into widespread usage on the World Wide Web due to its wide support and portability.

TIFF format is developed by Aldus(now adobe) corporation.

RIFF format is jointly developed by IBM and Microsoft.

TIFF is totally a new format.

RIFF is not new format it just provides wrapper around existing file formats to provide platform independence.

Open Paint on your computer, draw something, and click Save As. A small drop-down menu below your picture will let you select what type of file you can save your picture as. Choose PNG and save. (If you want a picture you took with a camera to be a PNG, open it on Paint, and save it as a PNG!)

Get yourself a copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro and you can then save pdf files from Microsft Office. There would no doubt be other options in Acrobat which would allow you to import relevant files for exporting to pdf.
