What extinguishes a burning flame?

Water is an extinguisher of a burning flame.

Answer: FUEL: Like us, fires die without food. Firemen exploit this principle in forest and brush fires when they create a firebreak in the path of the main fire. In a kitchen setting, eliminating the fuel may simply mean turning off the gas. In other settings, however, eliminating the fuel may be difficult if not impossible.

OXYGEN: Once again, like us, a fire must breathe. Toss a shovelful of dirt or a fire blanket over a fire, and you smother it. The oxygen level, incidentally, need not go down to zero for a fire to suffocate. If you reduce the oxygen level from the normal 21 percent in the air around us to 15 percent, many substances-flammable liquids, for example, and even some solids-will no longer burn.

What alarms are best to use in different situations?

There are many different type of alarms. Smoke alarms are used in houses to prevent fires as well as death of sleeping or unaware individuals in the house. Alarm clocks are used to wake up their users or just announce a time. Burglar alarms are provided by companies like ADT and are used to announce to the owner as well as police when a break in occurs.

How is a circuit for a fire alarm marked in the panel?

In the US, NFPA 72 (2007) 4.4.1.4.2.2: "Circuit disconnecting means shall have a red marking, shall be accessible only to authorized personnel, and shall be identified as 'FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT'".

Other codes, or earlier versions, may have slightly different requirements, such as marking it "FACP" for "fire alarm control panel."

How do you stop the factory installed alarm in a 2001 Nissan Frontier 4x4 SC that keeps going off for no reason?

In order of complexity:

As long as you don't allow your kids to play with the remote, since, if you

read your owners manual, one of the features is a 'panic' mode....

We'll assume that since you're here searching for an answer, you're smarter

than that.

Either the battery in your remote control is going dead or the remote itself

needs it's push button switches cleaned, usually with a decent electronics

cleaner that doesn't attack plastic.

In the meantime, remove the battery from the remote to stop 'falsing' @

the truck anti-theft unit and use the key to unlock the drivers door.

If removing the battery from the remote stops all the weird alarm behavior

you've found your problem. There's also the possibility that the circuit board

in the remote was stressed after one too many battery replacements

and solder connections are starting to come loose. You know, worn out?

Next, clean your trucks' battery terminals/battery posts! Dirty power connections play

havoc especially with the factory alarm. But it'll mess up your ECM (Engine

control module) also and give you terrible fuel mileage, to boot!

If deactivating the remote (usually does in 80-90% of cases) doesn't work

and the truck anti-theft unit keeps 'falsing', you're going to have to refer to the

service manual to 'massage' the connector on the anti-theft unit, which is the second

most common problem with these units.

Personally, I pack the cable end of the connector with silicon spark plug boot grease

which allows the individual connectors in the block to float and make better connections since the silicon is electrically neutral and doesn't attract dust. This is not

referenced or recommended in any way by Nissan, but my experiences have

proven me correct, at least on my own 2000 4x4 Crewcab.

Finally, if all else fails, unplug the anti-theft unit or replace it.

In most cases, you'll find replacing the unit doesn't fix the problem. It's

located above in one of the mentioned items, or a bad detector (switch, probably

dirty) in the truck door/body.

Hope this helps. Use it as general guide.

Why should windows be closed during a fire?

In a situation where you are within a structure that is on fire and you cannot flee to a safer location, you would want to keep windows in the closed position. Opening windows will bring in an air flow in which the fire will flow towards. If there is not oxygen for a fire, it will help to decrease the fire because it is taking away a source of fuel.

What is Edward fire alarm system?

Why isn't smoke a gaseous solution?

What are the 3 steps you take when you discover a fire at your home?

Quickly determine what kind of fire it is and whether you need to be concerned. Some fires are "good", such as campfires, fire in a fireplace or wood stove.

If it is a "bad" fire, decide if you can put it out immediately. There is no sense in leaving a fire to spread if it is small enough to stop it yourself. You can sometimes use a fire extinguisher, blanket, water, etc, or use salt or baking soda on a grease fire, or simply put a lid over a flaming pan, or turn off electricity to a burning appliance.

If you determine you cannot put it out, get everyone away, close the doors, sound the alarm to get everyone out, call the fire department, make sure everyone is out, stay out until the fire department says it's safe to go inside again.

A bimetallic strip can be used as a thermostst in a simple fire alarm system Explain in detail how a fire would cause the alarm to sound And describe how it could be activated at a lower temperature.?

a fire would bend the strip which would complete the circuit for an alarm. When cooled, it might complete another circuit, answering your second question.

What is the price range for personal alarms?

The cost of a personal alarm varies depending on the quality of the item you are looking for. I found that the prices range between about $15 and $100 if they are purchased outright. There is also the opportunity to subscribe to a personal alarm monthly monitoring system for as low as $19.95 a month.

Can fire alarm sub panel power supply tap from main fire alarm panel?

Yes, as long as there is enough typical/backup/standby power for both.

Why should people always treat a fire alarm as though it were loaded?

Fire alarm Smoke detector, heat detector, gas detector and CO detectors are detecting gas, heat by sensors inside and work.

If it is blocked by dust, moth etc. It can't work. So, it need regular test and clean.

But new designed structure has conquered this shortage and with features of hush test function, dust proof and moth proof etc.

Smoke detector keeps beeping?

The batteries might be there just in case it loses power, so check for cables running from the wall into the smoke alarm unit.
