What do you do for broken toes?
The treatment for a broken toe is the same as most fractures. Your main priority is to ensure that you and the patient are safe from any immediate scene dangers. Your next priority is patient comfort and to prevent the condition from deteriorating.
Signs and Symptoms of a Fractured Toe
1. Patient may complain of pain in the affected toe.
2. Swelling and deformity of the affected toe.
3. Protruding bone and/or teared skin.
4. Patient may have heard the snapping of the bone.
Treatment for a Fractured Toe:
1. Ensure you are safe.
2. Reassure patient and ask for details of the mechanism of injury (how it happened).
3. If no bone is protruding, immobilise the toe by splinting it. This can be done by strapping the toe with tape to the adjacent toe.
4. Elevate to reduce swelling and apply an ice pack to relieve pain.
5. If you are unsure of the severity of the condition, transport to a hospital or a doctor.
Most toe injuries can heal by themselves without medical intervention. However, if you are unsure of the severity of the injury, consult a medical practitioner.
You got your finger stuck in an electric pencil sharpener what should you do?
If you cannot free it call for assistance. Unplug it first then if you can't remove your finger do what the first sentence says.
Bee stings can cause a fatal reaction called anaphylaxis in people who have a severe allergy to bee venom. It is possible to have the same reaction to foods and medicines (peanuts and shellfish are also common causes of anaphylatic reactions). The effects are nearly immediate -- swelling of the neck and face, sweating, difficulty breathing and hives are among the most common signs. Many people with severe allergies, especially bee stings, carry a device called an Epi-Pen. An Epi-Pen is a dosage of a powerful drug, epinephrine, which counteracts an anaphylactic reaction. To use it, remove the safety cap and simply press the needle end firmly against the victim's thigh, about midway between the knee and hip. The spring-loaded needle will automatically extend, delivering the epinephrine into the muscle where it will be rapidly transferred into the bloodstream. The effect of the epi-pen is temporary, however, and the person must still get medical attention quickly.
Does flour really help a burn?
No. The standard treatment for a burn is cool running water. Applying flour on a burn is a myth and has no known medical benefits.
If someone is burnt, there is a treatment plan known as the three 'C's
Cool the burn by applying copious amounts of running water
Cover the burn using cling film. This stops the burn from stinging.
Call for help (Call 111 in New Zealand).
Do not apply any ointment, toothpaste or fat/butter on the burn. If you are in doubt of the severity of the burn, seek medical attention.
What happens when there's a chemical splash in the eye?
You rinse the eye with water for 15 minutes and get medical attention.
First aid.
Why do we cover cuts while cooking?
For two reasons:
When the patient can breathe without assistance (I am assuming a breathing tube -- not an NG tube).
If you have H.I.V can you have any treatment?
Yes. You cannot be denied First Aid treatment from any health-care professional because of A.I.D.S., this medical condition is protected under the discrimination act.
What are the specific health risks associated with illict drug use and first aid measure?

(The nasopharyngeal airway device is another method to insure the airway is open.)
Grasp the angles of the victim's lower jaw and lift with both hands, one on each side, displacing the jaw forward and up. Your elbows should rest on the surface where the victim is lying. If the lips close, the lower lip can be opened with your thumb. If mouth-to-mouth is necessary, close the nostrils by placing your cheek against them. The victims head should be carefully supported without tilting it backwards or turning it from side to side. If this is unsuccessful, the head should be tilted back very slightly. The jaw-thrust is the safest approach to opening the airway of a victim who has a possible neck injury because it can be accomplished without extending the neck.
What position would a casualty be placed in if they were vomiting a dark granulated substance?
Assuming no indication of spinal or head injuries, I'd use a coma or "side-stable" position if they were unconscious, or any position that allowed the head to turn so vomit would drain away and not be aspirated if conscious. I'd also consider raising the legs above the level of the heart to autotransfuse more blood to the core. Dark, granulated vomit is likely to be lysed blood from a gastrointestinal bleed (stomach or lower GI would be my guess, from the "coffee grounds" look of the blood vice something red or tarry). Id this is the case, they're very likely to vomit again, and aspiration of the vomitus can be extremely dangerous.
Put someone who cannot control their own vomiting on their side. The top leg would be placed over the bottom so they don't roll over.
The Four Man Carry (or Hammock Carry) is a method of moving a casualty when you don't have a stretcher.
Two people kneel either side of the casualty and place their arms under the casualty so the casualty is supported from ankles to neck. One person gives the commands and the other three follow.
The command "ready to lift" is followed by "lift" and all four persons lift the casualty at the same time and step up from kneeling on the floor to kneeling with one foot forward.
After a pause, the command "ready to lift" is given again followed by "lift" and all four persons lift the casualty at the same time and rise up from kneeling with one foot forward to standing.
The patient can then be carried by the four persons to safety.
The key element is that all the lifters act together, and only one person gives the commands.
There are variations of this, including a three man lift and a two man lift.
There are quite a few videos on the internet that will demonstrate all of the above lifts.
If the burn was to the lid of the eye what type of treatment would be indicated?
sterile moist dressings
What do you do if you find a neighbor unresponsive by their house?
By saying 'by their house' implies the casualty is outside their house? So entry into a locked house is not required. Telephone the police if the casualty is inside a locked house. If outside the house, telephone for medical assistance, and while waiting the arrival of an ambulance, carry out chest compressions until medical help arrives. Mouth to mouth is not advocated so much nowadays, but chest compression is.
This is a simple fracture. Splint it and get the victim to the medics.
What is a delaying action maneuver in battle?
A "Delaying Action" is a tactic that is pretty self explanatory.
Delaying Action: "The purpose of a delaying action is to effect maximum delay to the enemy without committing the friendly force to decisive action. It is employed to avoid breaking before superior hostile force; to gain time or to improve the situation with reference to observation, cover, and field of fire; and to maneuver the enemy into a position in which he may be more effectively attacked."
In other words, a delaying action is meant to hold back the enemy. This could be to cover a retreat or to give time for reinforcements to arrive.
What can you use from scratch to do first aid on a pet?
First you need:
1. gloves
2. scissors (sanitary ones)
3. peroxide or rubbing achole
4. ointment (neusborn best)
5. stitching needle and thread (embroiderer thread recommend)
6.vet at hand (if possible)
7. washed hands
Now to do the procedure:
First you need to cut all the hair around the wound. If its pussing or bleeding use a towel to suppress the wound or stop the bleeding, to do this use pressure and wait 2 to 5 minuets for bleeding to stop. Then clean it with the peroxide. Lets it socke in, if theres a scab soc it with warm water and peroxide and slowly peel it off and then clean it out. Remember this might be painful so be very slow when you peel if off. Be sure to be wearing your gloves while doing this. Now if the wound is open use the rubbing achole to nub it and use the thread and needle to sew it up. Have your vet do this or have the family sewer or a person who sews to sew it back up. Now take it to the vet and see if your pet will be ok.
Hope this helped good luck =3
Is arm movement affected when you crack or break a rib?

Is powdered ant poison really deadly if you get a little bit on you?
No -- not deadly. The main active ingredient in most ants' toxins is Formic Acid. Being an acid, this is a corrosive and can be quite painful. Bu it would take a HUGE amount to be deadly to humans. This doesnt mean you should allow any to get on you. A small burn won't kill you, but it's not good for you.
What can you do if the cat eyelid is swollen?
Take the cat to the vet. Or at least ring the vet for advice; there might be a simple solution.
Is nitrogen oxides bad to health?

Another name for finger protector?
An item used for protecting the tips of the fingers is a thimble. A thimble is a dimpled cap which fits over the end of the finger or thumb. It is usually used during sewing, to protect the finger or thumb from the needle.
What are the cosiderations if someone is bleeding?
If there is a lot of blood, stop the bleeding by pressing down hard on the wound. This is called putting pressure on it.
You may also use a belt or sinch to stop the bleeding. For example, if the wrist has been cut and there is danger of bleeding to death, you may tie a belt or a shirt around the elbow tight enough to stop the bleeding. Then call 911 or drive to the hospital. If it is only a little bit of blood, not to worry, just clean the wound with soap and water. You may also apply a topical antibacterial such as neosporin.
What is betametasona clotrimazol gentamicina good for?
My 1 1/2 month old broke out into what looked like diaper rash on her face. It proceeded to work into the neck and shoulder area, as well as knee caps and elbows. I tried everything from changing her laundry detergent and double rinsing, drying her clothing without dryer sheets, banishing the dog to grandma's for a couple of weeks, changing formula, using hydrocortisone cream, neosporin, Aveeno bath products...after finally giving in to the advice of my mother and sister I used a cream called Gelmicin which is a combinationbetametasona(anti-inflammatory)/clotrimazol(anti-fungal)/gentamicina(antibiotic). It only took two days to see a major improvement and four to clear her face totally of the irritation. I continued to use it for seven days and now use it on occasion if she gets a flare up. My pediatrician had only recommended Sebulex(dandruff shampoo) up to that point, which did nothing to alleviate the situation. It is manufactured by Productos Farmaceuticos Collins in Guadalajara, Jalisco-Mexico
