What if your spotted puffer fish is laying on the bottom and breathing heavy?
im no expert but i presume theres something wrong with it. Try going to the pet store from where u got it from and ask them. Search a smart fish site But just move it from tht position and possibly check everything in the tank is ok
No. The effect that a puffer fish usually has on other fish is so insignificant to a massive shark, it will do little to no damage to a shark, unless you are thinking of a dwarf shark. Even then, it will hurt it a little, but will not kill it, again, because of it's insignifigance.

What do fishes use their gills to do?
Fish's gills are made up of a gill bar, gill filaments, gill rakers and gill lamellae. The gill filaments are "stacked" along the the gill bar and the gill lamellae stick out of the filaments at right angles. Deoxygenated blood is carried down the gill bar and into the gill filaments. It then flows through the lamellae and back down the other side of the filament, into the gill bar where the now oxygenated blood gets carried off for use. The way oxygen is diffused into the lamellae is through a countercurrent exchange system. The fish takes in water through the mouth, and pushes it over the the gill filaments and lamellae. The direction of blood flow through the filaments and lamellae is in the opposite direction to the water being forced over them. This means that there is always a good diffusion gradient and the maximum amount of oxygen can be absorbed. If the concurrent exchange system was used, whereby the water and blood would flow in the same direction, only about half of the oxygen in the water would be able to be absorbed. The water is now forced back out of the fish through the operculum.
Yes, both male and female betta fish bite. It shouldn't hurt you because they're too small to do any damage to you
Are puffer fish a fish or an echinoderm?
Yes they have an internal skeleton, making them vertebrates. They inflate by sucking water into themselves, filling a bladder like organ. the spines you see are not bones per say nor an exoskeleton, but rather specially mutated scales. They are not attached to the skeleton in any way.
Why should you eat meat and fish?
Humans have no biological need to consume the flesh of non-human animals. Legumes, grains, mushrooms, seeds, nuts, and vegetables have all the protein you need. Fish get their essential fatty acids from algae, and you can, too.
Most fish can be fed fish food. If not they feed on algi, a bacteria that grows on the seabed and plants or the glass walls and bottom of a fish tank.
Compare the color of the dorsal and ventral surfaces on the fish?
Frogs usually have a dark green or brown dorsal color and a white or yellowish ventral color. This helps them blend in with the water surface from above and the water surface from below as well giving protection from underwater and above water predators.

What was the largest export market for ornamental fish?
India has enormous potential for producing ornamental fish, because of its abundance in species diversity. Favourable climatic conditions, and accessibility of low-cost labour. In India, ornamental fish farming is primarily practice in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
There are two types of ornamental species: native and foreign. The abundance of native species has made it possible for the country's ornamental fish sector to grow dramatically. North-eastern states, West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are loaded with potential indigenous species. 90% of native species are harvested and raised for export (85% are from northeast India). Currently, fish from almost 100 native species are raised for aquariums. Because of their unique colours, shapes and exotic species are also in high demand.
Fresh water fish absorb water through their skin and gills, saltwater fish actually do drink water.
In saltwater fish, they have to drink because their body's concentration of salt is lower than the surrounding water. Therefore, they have to drink huge amounts of water every day to stay hydrated.
In freshwater fish, their salt concentration is higher than that of the surrounding water, and, as osmosis dictates, they absorb water through their highly permeable skin. To keep from bursting, freshwater fish actually have to excrete water, up to 10 times their body weight daily, unlike saltwater fish.
in most us freshwater bodies of water including rivers lakes and even small swamps with enough water they can live in extremly dirty low oxegen water and during the day stay in deeper water under cover like logs rocks or weeds and come out at night to scavenge for just about anything that fits in there mouths theyre easy to catch and r not shy at night although in bigger bodies of water they can b hard to find ive seen them on small no stocked golf field ponds most of there time is spent on the bottom its not rare for them to b in shallow water but always on the bottom

This is something you need to do. It is an essay prompt and we don't do essays for students. We can provide suggestions and support, but we are not going to do your work. In looking at your question you have four parts to it. It asks you about two different types of thinking. I suggest you do a Venn diagram to sort that out. Then it asks you about which one you agree with and why. Here your teacher is looking for your critical thinking skills and how well you understood the lesson. When it states to defend your answer you need to give details and why you chose your answer. Finally, the question is asking you to resolve the controversy. It is here you can use some ideas and divergent thinking. The last answer is looking for higher order thinking and not something like "because." So, now I have broken this down for you it is your turn to get to work.
