What is the value of a silaflex magnum fishing rod?
The value of a Sila-flex PT70 is basically whatever you can get for it. I have been watching this particular rod myself, and while the blank is, in my opinion, very desirable, it is also my opinion that the rewrap job is in bad taste. If I had this rod, I would strip off the guides and decorative wraps within minutes of unwrapping the package. The guides are also a problem as far as I am concerned, as they are the old style spinning guides made of chrome plated brass, so I would replace them as well. Most of these rods I have seen have at least some degree of corrosion on the reel seat, and while the photographs are unclear, it seems pretty good. Although the reel seat on this rod was the best available in its day, they have improved a great deal since, and I would consider stripping this rod down to the blank and starting over. Remember, this rod was manufactured no later than 1962. The blank is superb, however, but for me, I would have to think long and hard before spending $200 (including shipping) for a rod with this much baggage (especially since I already have 2 PT 70s, a PT 60, and a PT 90).

In Passion for angling Monster Myths Where is this lake Its the secret lake Details would be great?
Based on comments made by Chris Yates in Dorset magazine a couple of years ago, and crossed with other information from people online, it is almost certainly at Wimborne St Giles, in Dorset UK.
The lake in this Google link is 7acres in size, just like Yates said it was in the program, and you can see from its shape and the distinct features of the river that flows in and out of it with the sluice etc that its pretty unlikely not to be the lake. There is also evidence online about the lakes history detailing its creating in 1800's, which means it is matching at age too. I doubt Chris Yates will ever formally confirm the location by name, but his description in the Dorset magazine pretty much does that anyway.
