What flag can fly higher then the American flag?

When it is displayed from the same flagpole with another flag - of a state, community, society or Scout unit - the flag of the United States must always be at the top except that the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for Navy personnel when conducted by a Naval chaplain on a ship at sea. http://www.usflag.org/flagetiquette.html

It depends on what team's helmet you are reffering to. All NFL helmets have the following decals in the back: American flag, NFL logo and the manufacturer's safety warning decal that came with the helmet. Many teams also have the player's number on the back. The Dallas Cowboys have the last name of the player on the back of the helmet courtesy of a household labelmaker.

Is it illegal to stomp on an American flag?

Under U.S. Code › Title 4 › Chapter 1 › § 8, the act of stomping on an American flag would fall under at least two provisions of the code. As examples:

  1. To stomp on it implies it is on the ground, which is prohibited.
  2. The flag should never be disrespected.
  3. The flag should not be left in a horizontal, flat position, but should fly free.

The illegality portion of your question is more difficult to answer. This Code has little in the way of enforcement. If you do bad acts toward a flag, plenty of people will be "up in arms" over your actions! Military and Vets would be very vocal about your disrespect. Yet, I've never heard of anyone being arrested for mistreatment of the US Flag. Perhaps we need to arrest, so people start to understand that the flag has meaning and value. It isn't just colored fabric.

However, I can think of one instance where others might hail an "offender" who sullies the flag. If all I had was a large flag and an injured patient I needed to move to safety, but a patient I could not carry, I'd probably put the person on the flag to move them, especially if transporting by another way could lead to more injury. I would use strips to bind the person's wounds. Now, if I was in a war zone and in desperate circumstances, I might be applauded for using this iconic symbol to save a soldier's life, the life he laid down for our flag and country. However, my actions would put the flag under every disrespect listed: laid flat, deliberately used to "carry" (something) someone, dragged across the ground, deliberately soiled or even muddied, deliberately torn apart to wear almost as clothing (bandages) , damaged, soiled and bled upon, and so it could never be displayed again as a flag. Now, would my actions be hailed for attempting to save a life? Or would I be criticized and maligned for defacing and disrespecting the flag? Such are quandaries humans must sort through to decide on the most ethical actions---even if it disobeys a Law or Code.

What means a gold ball on American flag?

A gold ball on the American flag typically refers to the finial or ornament that is placed atop flagpoles. It is often a decorative element that symbolizes freedom and patriotism. However, there is no specific significance attributed to a gold ball in relation to the flag itself; it's more about the flagpole's design. In some contexts, it may represent the sun or light, but its meaning can vary based on individual interpretation.

Why is american flag waving on moon?

When American astronauts planted it in the moons surface they of course did it symbolically. A symbol of American accomplishment as President Kennedy set as a goal. It lays claim to no territory. Since there is no wind on our moon, in order for it to not simply droop, the astronauts fixed up a horizontal metal strip through the upper part so that it would extend out and be visible. It is not perfectly flat and thus has a slight wavelike appearance. And that appearance will stay. My question would be, "will the colors fade due to the bleaching effect of the sun's rays"?

Thank you for your question.
