What kind of things should you know when becoming a flight attendant?

So you dream of being a flight attendant like me?

You think that you have got what it takes?

  • Well first of all,You need to be tall at least minimum of 5 ft 2 in (157cm) and maximum of 6ft 2in (168cm).
  • Depending on which airline you are applying; possession of a full, valid EU passport with no restrictions or for non-EU passport holders, a valid work permit/visa that allows entry to destinations.
  • A good level of health is necessarily:You need to have a good clear eye sight, but don't worry not as much as the pilot's eyesight's are needed to be.You also need to know how to swim at least Meters unaided (Don't worry training is always in a pool so relax)
  • As for certifications;every airline requires basically the same things but some require maths like British Airways and others but generally they only require an excellent command in English and the ability to speak another language. (Well English is easy, right guys?)
  • The last thing that i am going to say is that you have to have a heck load of patience because there are going to be scared people on the plane, crying kids, whiny and grumbling old people and you can't just tell them to shut the hell up...you have to help them and give your best :)

I really hope i helped you guys,I am Elizabeth and i am a Future Flight Attendant,it has been my dream for so long and now that i finished school and stuff, i can apply :) I am going to get my driver's licence by end of summer then im good to go :)) See you everybody :)

Can an ex-flight attendant who lost their job due to a positive drug test reapply to another company with any realistic hopes of regaining a flight attendant position?

As you are an ex-flight attendant, you already know that random drug tests for flight attendants are now the norm and mandated by the FAA. I'd say that it's not likely you could regain another flight attendant position...I don't think most airlines would bother when they already have a lot of applicants as it is...

Where can one find more information about cabin crew jobs?

What certificate is needed to become a flight attendant?

Most airlines require that you have a high school diploma, or two years of college education at least. A College degree is preferred and more advantageous due to the possibility for promotion to a management position in the future. Any experience and training in the hotel, airline, nursing, and travel industry would be an advantage. Speaking a foreign language such as Mandarin, Japanese, French, Spanish or German, would definitely work well in your favor as well. Airlines will train you to become a fully certified cabin crew once they hire you.

What are some sample flight attendant announcements?

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Captain has iluminated the fasten seat belt sign. It is now necessary for all passengers to remain seated, with seat belts fastened. Thank you. "

How much do flight attendants make?

Well it actually depends on the airline, whether it is a low-cost/no-frills airline(e.g. Southwest Airlines) or a legacy airline (e.g. American Airlines), I think the earlier answer "about 7 dollars an hour minimum to about 30" meant for the low-cost/no-frills airlines. Flight attendants from legacy airlines earn half as a pilot. As they say: "A pilot earns much more than a regular business man" so if a pilot earns much more than a regular business man, image how much a flight attendant earns.

Earnings also depends on which route a particular flight attendant is assigned, how many miles that particular route will be flying and so. Flight attendants who fly International routes earn much more than flight attendants on Domestic routes or Commuters.

A flight attendant can also demand for higher salary than the usual salary as long as it is reasonable, such as you experience or hours of flying and the like.

How many hours a week does a flight attendant work when they are on the plane?

Flight attendants usually have a minimum and maximum amount of hours a month that they fly, depending on the company that they work for and according to their current contractual terms with their company. Right now, as an employee of one of the top 4 legacy carriers in the U.S., I work a minimum of 75 hours a month up to a maximum of 120.

Example Maths Question:

On the return flight from Amsterdam to Luton, with 146 passengers onboard, you sell (Euro)1256.50 worth of products.

In GBP (sterling), what is the average spend per passenger on this flight?

£5.89

£12.59

£4.32

(£1 pound sterling = €1.46 EUROS)

so to work it out, convert the euro total into sterling by dividing 1256.50 by 1.46, so now you have the sterling

total for the flight, now divide by the number of pax!

give it a go!! and a wee tip for general currency stuff, divide euros by the rate to get sterling, or multiply

sterling by the rate to get the euro cost!!!
