Can a team question or challenge umpires decision in NFL?

I don't mean to be funny here, but the answer is 'sometimes'.

MLB instituted the use of instant replay during the 2008 season. It can be used to determine whether a ball left the park for a home run and to determine whether there was fan interference on a play. But unlike the NFL, where the coach has a red flag that he throws onto the field to indicate a challenge and instant replay will be used to determine the correct call, the MLB manager has no such ability. All 'challenges' are initiated by the crew chief of the umpires working the game. So it might be possible for the manager to convince the crew chief that the play was called wrongly and have instant replay used. But if the crew chief believes the call was made correctly, and usually he consults with the other umpires to get their interpretation of the play, there is no chance that instant replay can be used.

What does a linesman wear in football?

The assistant referee (or "linesman" as it is sometimes incorrectly called) wears a uniform shirt, shorts, and socks consistent with the referee. The AR also wears black shoes, sometimes with cleats or rubber grips on the sole. The AR will also have a flag, used for signalling when the ball is out of play and when an offside infraction, foul, or other misconduct has occurred. Most ARs will also wear a watch to keep a backup record of game time, red and yellow cards, a whistle, a notebook or score sheet, a pen, and a game coin (just as the Referee has all these things) so that he or she can take the Referee's place in the event of incapacitation. Finally, some professional leagues use a referee communication system, and so the AR will be equipped with this as well, if available.

Can you throw the ball after a fumble?

Yes you can throw a football after a fumble as long as it is fumbled behind the line of scrimmage and it is the only forward pass of the play. Each offensive play is allowed only one forward pass.

A ball advanced beyond the line of scrimmage may be passed or fumbled backward behind the line and then legally thrown forward as long as the feet of the passer are behind the line when he throws the ball and it is the first forward pass during that play.

It depends on the league and level of football, but in the NFL, the football is normally placed on the 2 yard line for both a point-after kick or a 2-point conversion attempt. In high school, it's placed on the 3 yard line. CFL rules put it on the 5 yard line.

Can a field goal attempt that hits the crossbar and caroms back into the field of play be legally caught by an offensive lineman in the end zone for a touchdown?
