You are granted a rare opportunity to choose something that is not in your fate or destiny.

I think it refers to the deck created by Arthur E. Waite and Pamela Colman Smith, often referred to as the "Rider-Waite" deck, but which I prefer to call the Waite-Smith deck.

Waite was a mystic who believed his mystical ideas allowed him to see the deficiencies in the common Tarot decks of his time, and to make corrections to them. I'm not sure of all the details; however, I do know that he switched the places of a couple of cards, and gave The Fool the number 0.

Because Waite considered his version the "correct" one, he called his deck "rectified."
