Is Adel Emam a freemason?

I don't think there's enough evidence for anyone to tell for sure whether or not he is a freemason. In his early years, he was noticed to be a talented comedian who can reach the hearts of his audiences easily. Being young, poor and not aware, he was offered great money to do certain roles in movies. So he might have been a tool used by freemasons to deliver messages to the audiences. These messages, ofcourse, were rather political and assigned to him by the government. Does that mean that the Egyptian government are freemasons?? Maybe, but I'm sure they are controlled and influenced by freemasons who are above them.

So is Adel Imam a freemason? I can't tell for sure. But he has served their cause in most of his movies. Most of the movies he acted contained sexual scenes and portrayed religious people in a disrespectful manner. Most people who serve freemasons are not aware they are doing it. So he can just be a normal person who wants money and does what he's told.

Is William Miller a Freemason?

David L. Rowe, God's Strange Work: William Miller and the End of the World (Eerdmans: 2008) gives extensive documentation of Miller's Masonic connections, noting that he attended a meeting as a youth on March 4, 1798; joined the Morning Star Lodge in Poultney and eventually rose to the rank of Grand Master. David L. Rowe, God's Strange Work: William Miller and the End of the World(Eerdmans: 2008), p27.

Miller resigned his Masonic membership in 1831, stating that he did so to "avoid fellowship with any practice that may be incompatible with the word of God among masons".[20] By 1833 he wrote in a letter to his friends to treat Freemasonry "as they would any other evil".[21] ...William Miller letter dated September 10, 1831 quoted in David L. Rowe, God's Strange Work: William Miller and the End of the World (Eerdmans: 2008), p94.

Unfortunately, Mr. Rowe's scholarship is extremely dubious and some of what he says about Miller's Masonic membership is certainly untrue. The idea that William Miller might have attended a Masonic meeting at the age of 16 is impossible, as only members may attend meetings and members must be 21 years old to join. A William Miller was Master or Warden of Morning Star Lodge #27 (as it then was) in Poultney in the years 1809 and 1810; this may have been the same man. However, he was never the Grand Master. A large number of Masons felt obliged to end their Masonic involvement due to massive public pressure in New York State and Vermont in the late 1820s and early 1830s. Resigning one's Masonic membership was an act of political correctness.

Why is the son of the father who is a freemason called a lewis?

The word "lewis" in this context refers to a device for lifting stones with a block and tackle. Why it refers to the son of a Mason is not clear--perhaps it has something to do with being "brought up" or "raised" by one's father.

Is the masonic lodge a sect?

According to most common defintions, no.

  • Members are free to come and go as they please, and actually must join of their own will and initiative - Masons do not preach or attempt to convert.
  • True, there are several private rituals, but these are symbolic of certain progressions in membership, just as a Bar Mitzvah is to a young Jew or Baptism/Confirmation to a Christian; they are no more cultist than these occasions.
  • No person is placed in rank above the others simply because they are friends with those at the top. Degrees are conferred as they would be in a school or martial art; you move up a level when you have learned what there is to know and the higher degrees think you are ready to join the higher discussions. The leaders are elected democratically (almost in the original sense of the word).
  • Members are not forced to accept one specific belief system: the only belief they must have is that in a supreme being in general, and what this means to each member is entirely up to them. Religion is actually a taboo subject in Lodges, so religious freedom is guaranteed (since nobody will tell you anything about anything).
  • If a person leaves a Lodge, the others will accept their decision and congratulate them on what they have achieved, with the offered option of return always available as opposed to the cold shoulder and denouncement.
