Follow the following steps listed bellow in the correct order.

Go to the Wii menu. Click Wii options. Click on the botton across from the one that shows a picture of a memery card. Scroll over a page by pressing the + button. Click on the Internet Settings. Type in the pin for your Wii. Click Search for an acsess singnal. Select your connection. Type in your internet password. Click Test connection. Then click your internet set up. Click use the connect. Then click back. Return to the Wii menu. Start up Mario Cart. Then, finally and if you followed the steps correctly and your internet is with in range you should connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi. You are on your own. Your Welcome.

You go to your Pal Pad, then to [Your Person's Name]'S FRIEND CODE.

That's how you get yours.

Then, once you have someone elses friend code go to 'REGISTER FRIEND CODE' in your Pal Pad and enter theirs.

If your friends town has a rude word in it, it won't let you enter the word.

Friend codes by themselves don't give Dittos in the Friend Safari. To get Dittos you will have to get a friend to share one with you.

no but a ghost comes to your town if you help him he will give you a wish and you can chose if you want your town cleared of weeds or a random gift i don't remember what else he offers i don't know the day he comes but I'm guessing some day in October hope this helps!
