The original (Japanese) manga finished because the story ended. I have no idea where the licensed english releases are right now, but it will sooner or later catch up and end as well. The anime ended because it followed a sort of different story-line as compared to the original manga source, though it could also be said that the anime ending was "open" since it really didn't feel "conclusive" and not all members of the zodiac appeared.

The rooster in the Chinese zodiac is Ayame Sohma in Fruits Basket. He is portrayed as confident, flamboyant, and passionate about fashion and design. Ayame is one of the members of the Sohma family cursed by the animals of the zodiac.

In the anime series, Akito isn't a woman. But in the manga they find out it'll be a girl, but Akito's mother says she'll have an abortion if they don't raise her as a boy. Because she doesn't want any other woman getting attention other than her. So Akito is raised as a boy, and Hatori, Shigure, Ayame and Kureno all know Akito is a girl because they were there when she was born. But they keep it a secret. They went so long like that that no one says otherwise. Akito was raised like a boy, dressed like a boy, and grew to have a very flat chest so no one really noticed.

In "Fruits Basket," the zodiac members are represented by different animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Wild Boar. Each character transforms into their respective zodiac animal when hugged by someone of the opposite sex or under emotional stress.

The Fruits Basket manga won the Kodansha Manga Award in the shoujo category in 2001 and the Best Manga award at the American Anime Awards in 2007.

The Fruits Basket Fan Book- Cat is really awesome I totally recommend it. It contains character profiles that have lists of quotes (awesome) Time lines, chapter synopsis, fan art, bonus manga and much more. It's a very nice accompaniment to the series.

Yuuki Cross is 5 foot even. Tho I'm not sure how tall Yuuki Kuran is due to her hair growing and her body muttered when she is reawaken so she may have grew a couple inches lol most likely not tho.^-^;

There will be no season 2 of fruits basket and they're not making one. that's why I read the manga which was 100% better :D especially the last ones

Its been a long time scince I read but I know that Machi is part of the Student Councel along with Yuki . I have the feeling that its the girl Yuki falls in love with or the anoying guy with black hair.

Correct, it`s the girl on the Student Council for whom Yuki falls. Machi is actually Kakeru-san`s (that would be the annoying black-haired guy!!) half - sister, and so Yuki meets Machi through his friendship with Kakeru.

Akito actually has two meanings.

Aki-to : Crystal person (Akito is too emotional & can be broken as easily as crystal can be).

A-ki-to : Person who resents (Being Akito she is also bitter and, although I hate to admit it, resentfull)

Yes, there is a Fruits Basket video game for Nintendo DS. It was released in Japan in 2007 and is based on the popular manga and anime series. Players follow the story of Tohru Honda as she interacts with the members of the Sohma family.

When high school student Tohru Honda's mother died in a car accident, Tohru begins living in a tent and supporting herself. That is, until she finds a home in the least likely of places, inhabited by her classmate Yuki Sohma and his cousins Shigure and Kyo. The Sohmas however, live with a curse. Thirteen members of the family are possessed by spirits of the Chinese zodiac and turn into their zodiac animal when hugged by the opposite gender or when under stress. When Tohru discovers the Sohmas' secret, she promises not to tell and is allowed to keep living with them. The Sohma's curse, however, is deeper and darker than Tohru realized, but her presence soon becomes a large, positive influence on those possessed by the zodiac. She sets out to break the curse, and on the way, meets and discovers each of the Sohma's vengeful zodiac spirits. Each has a different personality, just like the animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Saki Hanajima (often affectionately Hana) is the best friend of Tohru Honda and Arisa Uotani, and has been since their last year in middle school. She has black hair that is often in a braid (although it has been seen down), pale skin and a preference for the color black. She has poison electric shock powers that can harm another person, though it has not been confirmed as to how they feel. She has one brother, Megumi, who also has powers, but he can curse people instead of shocking them. Saki is very close to Uotani and Honda, often threatening others with her powers if they are threatened.

NO!!!! Hahaha...sorry I'm laughing. I can't believe you thought he was gay. No, Hatsuharu, Haru, is attracted to Rin, who is also attracted to him. (stuff happens throughtout the manga, but they finally end up together again in the end - Rin and Haru) Haru loves Yuki like a brother, sort of like how Yuki loves Tohru like a mother-figure (revealed in the manga). He hated Yuki, cuz he was made fun of, the rat rode the cow all the way to the banquet...but when he met him, Yuki was nice to him, and he loved Yuki. Like Brothers:)

It hasn't been on for approximately 6 years, and it doesnt look like there will be a second series, if you want to buy the four DVDs of the first 26 episodes (Which goes up to when Kyou transforms into his true form shape i think - i havent watched them but i have bought the DVDs nd my friend tells me that's where it ends) then go on www.amazon.com or www.amazon.co.UK and search them

Tohru Honda falls in love with Kyo Sohma, and in volume 22, he kisses her after she goes unconscious. In 23 when she comes out of the hospital, Kyo tells her that he loves her and wants to be with her. Yuki, loves her as well, but seeing that she loves Kyo, ends up falling in love with Machi, a girl from the student council (the one with anger issues.) The curse breaks, the zodiac are free, and Akito (GOD of the zodiac) decides to take "his" role in the family as "his" true sex. A female! She was raised as a man by her mother.

If you read it, you would know that Rin/Isuzu and Haru/Hatsuharu were dating in the manga. Then there was the break up and then they became a couple again, because Rin actually still loved Haru. (Rin was the one who broke up with Haru.)
