How tall is Edward Elric in the movie?

Ed's age is mentioned by Winry in volume 9, chapter 34 of the manga. (At the top of page 15, if you want to know exactly, she says, "Hey, Ed. You're almost 16, right?"). This is when they're on the train with Ling Yao going from Rush Valley to Central. In the back of volume 2 in the 4 panel strip "The Pitiful Truth", he says he's 165 cm (about 5 feet 5 inches) tall ("My total height is 165 cm...I think") Hope this helps, from one FMA fan to another!

Is Full Metal alchemist's story the same one of for Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood?

Hi! Fullmetal alchemist has a sequel but it is not fma brotherhood.......uniquely done there is a film called "Fullmetal alchemist and the conqueror of shamballa im not gonna spoil it for you but that is the the sequel to the first/original series.........on the other hand fma brotherhood follows the manga the reason they did brotherhood was not to improve the original its because the manga was not in time with the first show meaning the 1st series was made up as it went along rather than the manga....brotherhood follows the manga they have a movie for brotherhood released this year its no sequel just a movie that can be placed anywhere in the first 30 episodes of the brotherhood series meaning they made a movie i think to kind of show off the new cast put not neccessarly following the manga! Fullmetal alchemist is now done unless future release

The first series has 51 episodes the secound has 62....there were also ovas released for both series there basically side storys......there miniture/chibi versions of the original characters lol! :)

Are they making new episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist?

If you mean new episodes as in continuation of the first Fullmetal Alchemist series, then the answer is, no, they are not. But a new series titled Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was released, the difference is mainly on the plot. This whole new series is similar to the still unfinished manga plot line.

When does Fullmetal Alchemist take place?

Fullmetal Alchemist doesn't take place in our world, it doesn't have a definite time period. Arakawa based it off Industrial-period Europe, but the fact is, it's its own world with its own time.

In the anime, they get poofed to WWI - ish Germany, but FMA is it's own world. Unlike animes like Fruits Basket or even Inuyasha, set on...Earth with a time frame and country, FMA isn't in a specific time period

>>>>>> As this info is mostly correct but it wasn't WWI it was WWII. The actual time period took place in the 1900s because when they left home they burned their house down October 3, 1910. hope this helped you

>>>>>>>>>>> It isn't WWII, it is WWI, because WWII began at around 1939, however the movie "Conqueror of Shambala" is WWII with the Germans and the Jews; Holocaust, and etc. However, FMA is it's own world as said and it is around after the Industrial revolution in Europe.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lets just just say the early 1900's because (In the, I think 3rd edit? They burned their house in 1910 maybe add a year or two because their is no way that all happened in a few months >.<) And yes it was WWI because of the year and the planes that where shown in the scene where Edward traveled to "the other side" do not match up to those used in WWII but do match WWI planes ^.^

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I would actually guess that it takes place well into the future, making it somewhat post-dystopian. At least in the other world they inhabit. Later in the series (possible spoilers - Episode 46: Human Transmutaiton) Izumi gives Ed a letter between his father and another woman (Dante) She says it was dated based on the birth of christ, a remnant of a religion that hasn't been practiced for centuries, indicating that christianity is no longer practiced in this alternate world, so it's far into the future or the timeline altered widely in the other world. It could also just be a continuity problem or a convienent "let's show that this world is different" moment, but it does bring some interesting points.

What schooling do you need to become a mangaka?

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but I will try to help anyway. I help host a manga site myself and from my experience, the art is always important so being good at drawing helps. Some important things on that front are shading, being able to draw a character, location, or object with enough detail that they look good, but not so complicated that it would be a pain to recreate the character, location, or object. Even if the art isn't spectacular, being a good storyteller is just as important. I hope that helps.

Where can you download free Fullmetal Alchemist English subbed episodes?

On piggymoo the videos are from their server (don't leach off veoh/youtube, etc) so they load quite fast. There's also specials and you can go full screen because they load in 600x800 with perfect quality. I'd suggest this one over all others.

Below are the links to the videos on the related links section.

What is Full Metal Alchamist Brotherhood?

Fullmetal Alchemist is an anime... And a manga!

It is based off two kids "Edward Elric" and "Alphonse Elric" looking for a way to ressurect their mother (and get their bodies back) by using a stone (which in the series they say is "Ledgendary") the Philosopher's Stone.
Full metal alchemist is a manga and anime series by Hiromu Arakawa. It is often abbreviated as FMA. The anime has 51 episodes and all of them are releaced along with a movie. I agree this anime is the best ever. Full Metal Alchemist (FMA) is a hit manga series in Japan. Edward Elric and his younger brother Alphonse Elric tried to resourect their dearly beloved mother from the dead with human transmutation... it failed terribly, making Edward lose his left leg, and Alphonse's entire body. in order for Edward to get his brother back he exchanged his arm for Al's soul, and binded it to an empty suit of armor. now ed has an right automail arm and a left automail leg (artificial limbs) and they are on a journey to find a way to gain they're origianal bodies back. Edward becomes a state alchemist on order to find more information about the philosipher stone which might indeed have the power to give them their desire. p.s. I LOVE THIS ANIME Also, this anime is about two brothers that try to bring their mom back to life using alchemy, but its forrbidden to try to raise the dead, but they do it anyway, and Ed (older brother) lost an arm and a leg and Al (younger brother) lost his entire body, so Ed put Al's spirit into a suit of armor, and they go on a quest to find the legendary philosopher stone to try to get their bodies back to normal. It's a good anime, though it's kinda gross and scary at some parts, but just a little, and it's funny.

Can people do alchemy like in Fullmetal Alchemist?

i dont think alchemy is real, the closet they've come to it is transmuting lead to gold, i think. mabey it worked in the past. you can read up on it on wikipedia, just type in "alchemy" or "alchemist"

hoped that helped ^^

Unfortunately, alchemy is completely different on this side of the gate. Sorry to disappoint you but from what I've read so far, its just chemically breaking down elements. but then again, i could be wrong. Fullmetal Alchemist actually inspired me to become an alchemist, but i'm sure i'm not the only one. :) maybe looking up some books or the internet. but it won't be easy. It's hard to find basically "step one" like in intro as to what it is, how it works, and a test experiment like Ed's bird on the floor or the origami crane. I wish alchemy on this side was exactly the same as Amestris, or that there was at least some way we could cross over. I still haven't found what I'm looking for, most of these books are about the Philosopher's Stone. And once again, making one isn't the same as Amestrian alchemy. Hope this helped a bit. :)

Does edward elric fall in love with winry?

No, they do not get married. At least in the first Fullmetal Alchemist series. But I highly doubt they will, in the manga or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Their love life is not part of the 'big' plot...but is a sub plot...maybe a kiss or something but no marriage soon

-At the very end of the manga, they do have a confession of sorts. Its hard to explain, but to the question of married, in the very last page there is a collection of photos, Among them,

Is one containing, Ed, Al, Winry and Mei. Winry is cradling an infant to her chest with eyes like hers. While Ed is holding a toddler with his color hair and the same smile.

One can take that as evidence they get married.

P.S Ed got tall

* Edward got married to Winry and had 2 children, and Alphonse got married to Mei after his trip to Xing in the manga.

Ed and Winry did get married, because if you do look at the picture that is discussed above (with the two children), Ed is wearing a wedding ring on his left hand. That is proof that he and Winry got married. :)
