When are leopard geckos fully grown?
In captivity, leopard gecko breeding season is right after the cooling period. Our winters are the animals cooling period. Most breeders tend to match up pairs in March - May depending on temperatures and location.
I had a cat that hunted and killed lots of common house geckos. They didn't agree with her though and she would later regurgitate them. The cat was otherwise well fed, it was just a cat thing, like sport hunting.
Why is your leopard gecko turning green?
Many geckos including leopard geckos change color when they are startled. It`s possible that they are using their instict. In the wild the try to blend in to the envirment to hunt bugs. I once had a leopard gecko and he turned pink when his tail was stuck under his plastic rock house.
Gecko's eat crickets, spiders, cockroaches, beetles, moths and any type of insect. They even eat insects bigger than themselves. All geckos eat mainly insects, but their preferences depend on the individual gecko. For example bigger geckos enjoy larger insects as prey. Small geckos such as house geckos may be less inclined to eat spiders and centipedes, and more inclined to eating cockroaches as their favorite food.
Why do leopard geckos lick their lips after they eat?
Most gecko species will do something to allow them to "get it all in". Leopard geckos in this case, will lick the white along their lips to ensure that all of the prey has been completely swallowed. In some cases, cricket antenna's and legs are still hanging out, this allows them to "get it all in". In other cases, some supplements could've been left behind from the insect and they are eating.
Some leopard geckos will "gape" meaning that they are trying to open their esophagus to reduce choking. Like most reptiles they will eat their prey whole, and this assists with the swallowing process.
Most species of gecko are insectivores. This means they rely on a variety of live feeders such as worms, crickets and roaches. There are also some species of gecko that are omnivores relying on a variety of fruits, saps, pollens and insects. There are not species of gecko that rely on a veggie diet though and they will most likely not eat lettuce.
Can a leopard gecko have any people food?
No, people food is not recommended for leopard geckos. They eat crickets and meal worms. If you want to, you can feed a leopard gecko an occasional pinkie mouse. Many leopard gecko experts recommend dusting crickets and meal worms with a calcium supplement.
Do you have to spray a leopard gecko?
When leopard geckos are young, you must spray them every once in a while, as if it is a small desert mist. This helps them shed. Once they are older, you just need a large, deep water bowl that it can bathe in. They are older and more adapted to their habitat and won't drown in the water like babies would, so you don't need to mist them if you get them a large water bowl.
How much do you feed a crested gecko?
You should feed your crested gecko daily. Use the crested gecko special diet mixed with water and alternate that with crickets. Mine have done very well with this. I don't recommend baby food due to it being high in sugar.
When is the breeding season for crested geckos?
Usally when it is humid and very hot
Crested geckos thrive in a habitat that is usually ranging from 16-17 Degrees Celcius up to 25-30 Degrees celcius with a humid ex. When the "winter season" approaches in their natural habitat, they tend to eat less, sleep more, and become a little less socialable. This is due to the lower tempuratures during the winter. Breeding season takes place when tempuratures are more regulated. Meaning their spring and summer season is best. In captivity some breeders provide this cooling period for their crested geckos, others do not. Breeders do reccomend that the females recieve a break from males, and this should be done during the winter months.
Can you put a bearded dragon in a gecko vivarium?
Typically, here in the states, the term Vivarium is used to describe enclosures that feature running or standing water and live plants, these are typically high-humidity setups intended for amphibians and rain forest dwelling snakes or lizards. I have, however, seen some arid-type vivarium setups. Also, I believe in the UK, they refer to most any terrarium as a 'vivi'.
The bottom line is bearded dragons are desert dwellers and require a fairly arid habitat, I don't think a highly humid environment would benefit them, although I'm not sure about the negative effects, I'd imagine there are some.
What diseases are geckos prone to?

Can a leopard gecko live with a crested gecko?
Crested geckos are able, though not always willing, to adapt with gargoyle geckos. Though these two species are native to the same region, they are not found on the same islands within Caledonia. The gargoyle geckos are a much more territorial and aggressive species. They are also more robust and typically weigh more than a crested and even in same specie enclosures animals cannot be too much bigger than the other.
What are the predators of a gold dust day gecko?
The biggest single threat to the wild population appears to be the introduction of the little fire ant to New Caledonia. The ants prey on the geckos, stinging and attacking in great numbers and also compete with the geckos for food by preying on arthropods and insects.
Can leopard geckos walk on walls?
Geckos are the ultimate climbers of the vertebrate world with the amazing ability to freely scamper around on walls and ceilings. How do they do that? Each of their toes is covered with tiny hair-like projections called, setae. The tip of each seta is covered with hundreds of very fine projections called spatulae.
Each spatula has a microscopic diameter smaller than the wavelength of visible light. The spatulae stick to walls and other surfaces by van der Waals forces, an electrostatic attraction or repulsion between materials caused by the uneven distribution of the charge on their molecules. These allow geckos to cling to almost any surface without secreting a sticky substance.
How do you keep your 2 leopard geckos from fighting?
The first way to stop your rabbit from fighting is to separate them. Never let rabbits fight! Even a small bite or tear in the skin can lead to serious infection and abscess.
Once the rabbits are safe, you can try to start socializing them and bonding them. If they tried to fight when they first met, that's a good sign the bonding process may be a long and difficult one. Some methods work better than others, so it's a good idea to do some research. There are many resources online that can help you, and you could also look in the public library for a book on rabbit care. See the related questions and links below for more help!
Unless both rabbit are spayed/neutered, the likelihood they can be housed together without breeding or fighting is very, very low. There are many good reasons to spay/neuter your rabbit! If you choose not to, however, your only option is probably to keep two unspayed females that were raised together from the same litter.
Discussion
Rabbits compete in nature over food, space and mates. It takes time for rabbits to get used to each other.
Sometimes the rabbits fight because of different and unusual smells. You can try rubbing onion or garlic on their bottoms -- will take over the smell of the rabbit and the other rabbit will get used to the smell. If you don't want them to smell different put vanilla or Vicks Vapo Rub on their noses but this only works on fostering babies, I doubt it will work in grown rabbits as they SEE quite well.
What me and my family did, is we kept the rabbits in separate cages and about once a week or month, we put the rabbits together and let them fight for a little bit. To make them stop for a little bit at that moment, you can spray them with water and then we let them keep on fighting. Then we tried again the next week or month.
Can a crocodile gecko live with a green anole?
Male iguanas may get territorial and may bite the anole. Female iguanas can live with other lizards quite peacefully provided the other reptile isn't territorial. Make sure there's a lot of room in the tank/cage and plenty of hiding places for them to destress. Keep an eye on everyone because theyre likely to get sick at least initially when caged with other reptiles. Also anoles love to eat crickets. Iguanas are vegetarians and crickets may often bite and injure the iguana.
Is it safe to put a panther gecko and a leopard gecko in the same cage?
No as they are two different species with different needs. The Majority of reptiles do much better in their own environment, alone. The stress put on animals that are caged together is high and the end results is usually one kills the other.
Usually tropical humid environmental. they can live other places depending on what kind of gecko it is but they usually live near the equator.
