Segregation has not ended. Legal Segregation has been reduced by the action of the people who particpated in the Civil Rights Movement, both Black and White and colors in -between. The American People decided that Legal Segregation was not the American Way. There are sections of America that still favors Segregation. Racism is alive in America and values of the Declaration of Independence, "We hold that all men are created equal.". is also alive in America.
How was George Washington Carver kidnapped?
George Washington Carver's parents were Mary and Giles Carver, and were slaves owned by Susan and Moses Carver. When George was only one week old, he, a sister, and his mother got kidnapped by night raiders from Arkansas. Moses sent out John Bentley to find them, but only George was found.
People in the 1800s often did not keep records of birth, and this was not required by State laws. So it is estimated that George Washington Carver was born about 1864 in Diamond, Missouri. Since he was a few weeks old when he was kidnapped with his mom and sister, we can assume this occurred in 1864, if the estimated birth year is correct.
