You must open both images as layers. You must then use the free select tool to select around the head. Then on the top bar click Select -> Inverse. After that you must hit your delete key. Then you must select the move tool and move the head into place above the head in the other picture.

Unfortunately, the only formats that preserve layers in GIMP is .xcf (the default format.)

You must save the template somewhere on your computer that you will remember. After opening GIMP, go to "File" then "Open" and then find the file on your computer and then double click it.

The transformations I know of are flip, stretch, shrink, or crop.

Flip will flip the picture vertically or horizontally as specified.

Stretch will project the picture onto a larger grid of pixels.

Shrink will project the picture onto a smaller grid of pixels.

Crop trims any edges you want off the picture.

take two colored gimp strings cross then or make a ex then take the string that's under and make two loops then put the loose strings over and under straight and do it again with other string then pull all 4 strings in different derections

To use a scanner in GIMP, first ensure your scanner is connected and recognized by your computer. Open GIMP and go to File > Acquire > Scan to launch the scanning interface. Select your scanner and adjust the settings as needed, then click Scan. Once the scanning is complete, the image will appear in GIMP for further editing.

One easy way to do this would be to download an image of someone posing, and trace it. Exactly what are you trying to do though?

Either from the WEB - or make your own.

To make a GIMP image your desktop background, open it in GIMP and be sure to save it as a common extension, such as yourfilenamehere.jpg or .gif or .png. If your image is already listed under one of these extensions, you can skip this step.

Note: .xcf files are readable only by GIMP, so will not translate to a desktop image and can't be read by programs such as Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Windows Picture and Fax viewer.

Go to your desktop and right click. Select Properties from the drop-down menu and go to Desktop. There will be a list of images, to the right of which is a "Browse" button. Click this button and locate your image. Once you have found it, select it and click OK.

You can now either click "Apply" to apply your new background and see how it looks, keeping the Desktop dialogue open, or you can click OK and the background will apply, closing the desktop dialogue.

First : make sure the pic is in RBG mode.

Second : "colorize" it.

That give just one color - so you'll have to sectionalize the picture and change that color ... I suggest you use "curves" to do that.
