There isn't really a set GPA requirements. Generally, UC Irvine will look at all aspects, past GPA, like your SAT/ACT score, community service, school involvement, and other activities such as sports. It helps to have a high GPA, but really there is no bare minimum because honestly, it's hard to compare GPAs between schools, since each school does it differently. I would say if you held mostly a B and A average throughout high school, you have a great chance.

Having looked at a number of resumes of Amherst students, I'd say the average GPA of students there after four years is probably (guessing) 3.4-3.6.

Amherst students' high school GPAs vary greatly by the competitiveness of the high school.

It really depends on the institutions grading system. Typically, a 3.23 would be a letter grade of B.

Most state colleges will accept a student with a high school grade point average of 3.0. A 3.0 GPA is an acceptable grade point for many schools.

it doesn't really depend on your G.P.A they look more at your class rank so you could have a 2.2 but if you are in a school with brain dead kids and are in the top of your class you could still get in. If you get a 24 on your ACT your defintly going to get in but i have heard of 2.8 and a 22 ACT and he got in. If all else fails go there in the summer all you have to do is maintain a c average in English and math and they will let you in on probation. I hope I answered your Question

If your trying to get into a professional school (Med, Dental, Vet, Etc.) yes it is. As long as you score well on the MCAT, DAT, etc. Also, you need to have the "want" to get into the school because the interview at the professional school can make you or break you It also depends upon the school that you are at and what classes you took. If you made A's in your shop classes and phys ed and C's in your Math and Sciences it won't look as good. If you took AP or IB courses, it will look very good!

I don't think so. I have the same GPA because I was sick one day and missed a very crucial exam for one class, so it brought my GPA down a lot. 2.6 is about a B- to a C+, so slightly above OK. Try taking clubs if your school offers them, they really help boost your GPA!

You sir, are an idiot. A GPA does not rise higher than a 4.5, and even then that's 150% on EVERYTHING your entire school life, which is impossible.

Im a sophomore in high school, and I also have a 3.1 Grade Point Average. With a lot of asking, and researching a 3.1 is a overall good GPA to get into a decent State College. If you push yourself a little harder, you might just get it up to at least a 3.7

it all depends on which campus you want to be admitted to, since New Brunswick campus is highly competitive than the others then an average SAT score would be above 1580. The other campuses are selective but an SAT of over 1400 would be appropriate and if you don't have that, then a high school GPA above 3.0 would be just as good. Keep in mind decision making is not all about your SAT scores. Other factors are necessary.
