Well, i wouldn't say upgrading your graphics, because the only way to do that is to upgrade to a better video card. You can get better video cards at a website called tigerdirect.com which has the best deals anywhere, it also has loads of info. If you want the most up to date video cards, i would reccamend getting the nvidia 9800, nvidia 260, nvidia 280, or the nvidia 295. And remember the better the graphics card, the better the monitor, CPU and the power supply needs to be.

If by built-in you mean it belongs to the motherboard, than the answer is no for dedicated video card and yes for embedded. Usually dedicated cards are more powerful, thus it would a good idea to use DVI port of the video card unless you really want to use HDMI.

By the way, there are special DVI-D-to-HDMI adapters you can purchase. It supports audio too.

For photo editing, a good graphics card is usually not necessary. That one will be good. More important is lots of hard drive space, RAM, and CPU power.

Depending on the way you wanted this to be answered, GDDR3, and GDDR5 are both common types of graphics RAM. Or if your question was supposed to be asked a different way, most cards have dedicated video ram. This is helpful in gaming situations as most of the latest games require at least 1gig of dedicated vram in order to properly run at the highest settings. Remember not all cards are of the same architecture. If you see a $20 card with 1gig of video ram it's probably not the same as the $400 card with 1gig of video ram.

Maybe Nvidia since it's more advance and more powerful than Ati graphics. But it will be expensive and Ati you can afford it and can fit in the computer. But Nvidia GTX 260m doesn't overheat that fast so it can be either one.

A new Radeon HD 4850 can be purchased from Amazon for å£68 or from AMD for å£89. The Radeon website has links to other retailers which stock the HD 4850.

You can purchase adapters that will change the plugs, ie DVI - Dsub. Simply insert the adapter onto your graphics card, and then plug the monitor lead into it.

that card normally requires a 350w power supply but there are cases of it running on a 250w without problems. If you have a really good PSU then it may work but id guess no, it wouldn't

or an nvidia equivalent. you can get a higher or lower depending on your specific needs.

A graphics card is found on your mother board. Your Central Processing unit is completely different I'm afraid. An integrated graphics card means it will be used as RAM if its not needed anywhere else. Dedicated Graphics is naturally better than Integrated but it can only be used as graphics power. I'm not entirely sure what you were trying to get from this. But I hope this helps

Depending on what the bios has set the memory to be used from the onboard graphics, you can tell it to use more ram, ie change it from 64 - 128mb. But in doing this, your detracting from the physical ram. Eg you have 256mb ram at the moment, using the onboard graphics, (64mb), means you only have 192Mb, which is nothing in todays world of computing. So if you tell it to use 128mb, you will only have 128mb ram. :(

The best thing to do, imo, is to purchase a dedicated graphics card for this machine. With it being a media centre pc, I would opt for the largest graphics card you could afford. Nothing less than a 256mb would be my preferred option.

I would suggest you go for the 2gb ram and 512mb vcard. It has more performance. 2gb can run Vista and windows 7, while 128mb vcard you'll have trouble on running on these current systems.

128mb vcard is not worth it for a 3gb RAM nowadays. unless its a ddr3 and supports cuda and other nvidia or ati stuff, which is impossible on today's tech.

Also, if need be, you can upgrade the RAM from a 2GB to more. It's harder to upgrade a GPU, and more expensive as well.
