From the information given this could be several cards. I see the low end graphics card that I will assume is not yours. I will give the link of the search. If you find yours and find its cheaper than most. You might want to upgrade. Also take serious consideration if it is a AGP or a PCIe slot type. Your motherboard might not support it.



All and All if you have the mid level Radeon you'll be just fine.

The HP a1230n does not have a dedicated graphics card slot. It has three PCI slots and one PCI Express slot. Any of these could be used for a graphics card (the PCI Express is the best option) or other peripherals.

You can upgrade your laptops graphics. You will need to see what type of graphics cards your computer is compatible with a choose one to your liking.

Odds are that the card you are attempting to insert is a different form factor than the slot on your motherboard. The primary video slots today are AGP and PCI-Express. Make sure that your video card is the correct type for the slot and it should slide in without much force. See below images for identification purposes. Asus as a brand has been around for a while and has built a reputation for building some of the highest quality products in the industry. Their customer support is very good, at least compared to most other tech support. Their warranty is also adequate and better than most. Overall, if your looking at buying Asus, i personally wouldn't hesitate

It would definitely work with the CPU, but if you are willing to put in an extra few dollars, a GeForce GTX 1050 is slightly better as well as a brand new model.

If you want to have more horsepower than that, go with the GTX 1050 Ti, which starts at around $140. (Although, if you are considering the 1050 Ti, you should also consider upgrading your CPU and motherboard)

~Sorry bro, you're incorrect. The memory type of the card is irrelevant since it's on-board memory used by the graphics card. Not to mention I already bought the card and it works beautifully.

RAM and HDD are possible, GPU is not really possible for a laptop.

Then check on their website to see the specifications of it and see what expansion card slots it has.

The Radeon 9800 was the best you could get a couple of years ago, and is still worth checking out now.

Each number refers to the number of MTs (megatransfers per second) the RAM can deliver as opposed to a processor, which is cycles per second.

A DDR-3 1066 will operate at a command rate of 533 MHz and a cycle time of 1.875 nanoseconds.

A DDR-3 1333 will operate at a command rate of 666 MHz and a cycle time of 1.5 nanoseconds.
