In all seriousness, a lot of dogs are used as pack animals. Bags are tied around their back. Keep in mind that pack dogs are usually only carrying 40-50lbs max. Riding a large dog like a horse would be a horrible idea, but if the rider is a small child and most of the weight is distributed across the dogs shoulders. It shouldn't be a big deal for very small distances. Put the weight in the middle of the dogs back or towards the hind end and the dog will be hurt for sure.
