Why did guns n roses split up?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There isn't a whole lot of improvement I can do here, except, no one really knows why they broke up, nether do they, you're right about the replacements made with Gilby Clarke, and so on, and of course there was a lot of drug usuage between all of the members of Guns-N-Roses, Axl wasn't the only one with addictions. The front man usually gets the blame for any member(s) fallout. Yes Axl seemed concieted at times as well as Slash, and as well as others, wouldn't you? Being one of the top selling metal bands in history? But with that said, all went wrong was some legal complications involving contracts, drug use, and some creative conflicts. To say that Axl didn't care about the fans, or the band isn't fair, considering he came out with an album last year(Chinese Democracy), very successful, and by far one of Guns-N-Roses' best work, with returning Dizzy Reed, and Paul Tobias. You can't really call a performer a 'sellout' because that's how they to have make money, they "sell" albums; selling themselves, and their premodonnas, same goes for actors, and dancers, etc.

Truth is, no band lasts forever. Even the greatest of bands have had replacements over the years, and they too have had creative conflicts, like The Beetles, Elvis, AC/DC, Metallica, Bon Jovi, I Mother Earth, Blind Melon, I can go on. Hope this answers it. Take care.

I know one of the reason's was because axl rose was trying to write more music but because of drugs etc he started to become more racist towards black people by using the N-word etc and of course slash didn't want any part of that because he's half Brazilian so obviously he not going to stay if he's being a over the top daft racist! and then there was a lot of creative issues i.e they was suppose to be a hard rock band and suddenly axl wanted to start using the piano etc and the band didnt like the direction it was goin so then i think axl got a big strop on and told the band either they go and sign complete control over to him or he's quitting and shut the brand down. how much of that last bit is true i don't know. but why don't you just search for the GNR biography and watch it??

What is the meaning of a guns and roses tattoo?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Check out tattoo symbolism here: http://tattoo.about.com/cs/beginners/a/symbols_intro.htm But remember, sometimes a rose is just a rose. It doesn't mean or symbolize anything! "I have to colt 45's just under my neck, there is no real meaning behind them, it was a design i drew and liked so i got it done. And im still really happy with it." -Yinzer

"They are like his/hers in some cases just randomly like the image (even though that isn't wise), but usually people's experiences define this one... in my case i have 2 handguns (45s as well) on my hip bones angled down and they have pink roses (full bloom) coming from the barrels (one on each side). This I got after my daughter was born. The guns symbolize my sex drive...the, power and whatever and the flowers are the beautiful child the that seemingly destructive thing created. ^_^ Just be sure not to get a meaningless tattoo...if you really like a design and want it anyway, put a story to it. You can always think of something. Its your life and your skin." -Ani

What does the guns n roses song 'don't cry mean?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Well, who could explain it better than Axl himself? The song is about the girl Izzy used to be with that Axl was attracted to. But she found out it's not gonna work out. She was doing her things and Axl was so sad that he wanted to cry but the girl told him 'Don't Cry.' Later on, they wrote this song for 5 minutes.

The video was quite vague though and a bit irrelevant to the true inspiration of the song.

What instruments do guns n roses use?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The band generally use all the normal rock instruments. Vocals, guitar, bass and drums, from Use Your Illusions on keyboard as well. However, banjos, sitars, horns, brass and many other weird and wonderful things have been used in the course of Guns' career, and that's before I see the sleeve notes for Chinese Democracy...
