It depends on a number of factors, size of the female, also some strains have more young than others. I've personally seen anywhere from 10 to 35 fry dropped.

To tell if a pregnant guppy is about to give birth, there are a few signs to look for.

Signs:

1. Hiding away from other fish near the heater, filter, plants etc..

2. Loss of appetite (watch when you add food to the tank, she may just grab it then spit it back out).

3. Lack of energy. She may appear to just float around the bottom of the tank.

4. She will put her head down and her tail up. She will do this when she is about to start pushing etc..

5. You can also tell by her abdomen. It will be swollen and there should be a really dark (almost black, but for albino guppies bright pink/red) spot near her tail. This is called a gravid spot (which are actually the eyes of the fry inside her).

6. I noticed on my female, that a small white "dot" formed near the poop hole, a few hours before giving birth. This is her birthing canal opening!

If all else fails, you could place her in a breeding net or breeding trap for 24 hours and see what happens. If there are no fry, just release her back into the tank as the trap/net may stress her out.

You could also leave her in the main tank to give birth as long as there are plenty of hiding places for the fry. I use a mixture of dense leafed real and plastic plants. This isn't the best way to save ALL the fry but most should survive till you can scoop them out into a birth net/fry trap for proper safety.

Yes they can and do. That is why smart people with fancy guppies do not allow the plainer ones in with the fancies. The fancies will not associate themselves with the reggos.

First of all, the question is confusing since a male goldfish could never be female. I'm going to assume you mean how to tell the sex of a goldfish. Following are some methods that can be used to recognize the sexes but even these are useless unless the fish are at least a year old, i.e., have attained sexual maturity. 1. Midline ridge: male goldfish have a ridge running through the back of pelvic fins to their vent opening on the underside. The ridge is either completely missing or smaller in females. 2. Firmness of abdomen: The area between pelvic and anal fins is pliable for females but very firm for males. 3. Shape of the vent: Though difficult to figure out, the female vent is rounder and convex, whereas the male vent is thinner and concave. 4. Shape of the pectoral fins: Male pectoral fins are pointed with stiffer leading ray and female pectorals are rounded, shorter with finer front fin ray. 5. Features: females are brighter colored and are more active. This could be a difficult way of pointing out a female but you could try! If all else fails, put a known female in the tank. A male will check her out. A female will ignore her.

the rule of keeping fish in a tank is 1 gallon per inch of full grown fish, so 3 guppies will be good but just to keep them safe hav an air pump or just keep 2 of them

I doubt that they can breed, a lot more depends on if two fish can breed than just their size, as far as I know guppies can only breed with other guppies.

Many male guppies have 'black spots' but if by "black spot" you mean "gravid spot" then no, a male guppy can not be 'gravid' because gravid is the equivalent of "pregnant" and male guppies can not get pregnant.

In pet shops in Australia they range from $4 to $7.50, but with any guppy breeder around the world it depends whether they're a serious breeder and the colouration or effort put into the breeding of that colouration. Mine are selling for $1.50... (I am a serious guppy breeder, just need to get rid of some. They should say; "They breed like guppies" not rabbits) but I have seen them going for over a hundred, and some for $35.

You can keep most tetras, some barbs(not the Tiger Barb it will shred your poor fish's fins). You can also keep a Beta fish with them but, be carful when you put one in with your Guppies because he might attack your Guppies.

As you cannot be exactly sure when a female is going to give birth an extended periods in the breeding box can be stressful to the fish, this is one of the downsides to using a breeding box as opposed to a dedicated tank.
• Feed your newborn fry less more often, that is, give your fish numerous small meals throughout the day as opposed to one large meal.
• Even if a female guppy has given birth and has not been in contact with another male guppy they may give birth to additional batches of newborn. This is because guppies are capable of giving birth multiple times from just one fertilization by a male.
• You should purchase your male and female guppies from different stores to prevent inbreeding. Unfortunately the quality of guppies sold at aquariums is of a lower standard than in the past due to large amounts of inbreeding. You can help widen the gene pool by sourcing your fish from different suppliers.
• You should sterilize nets or any other implements that will be in contact with your tanks water. The best way to do this is immerse them in boiling water. Sterilization is even more important when dealing with newborn fish as they are for more sensitive to changes in water conditions.
• Guppies can sometimes give birth of up to 50 babies. You need to be prepared for this scenario by having a place for all your new fish to live. If you don't have the tank space to accommodate all of your new fish you can give them to friends or some pet shops/aquariums may even give you cash or store credit for your donation.
• Java Moss is the best plant to provide hiding spots for newborn fry. It has low light requirements and as it is a floating plant does not need to be planted in gravel.
• Certain types of filters can be dangerous to newborn fry. To prevent small fry from being sucked into a filter you can cover the inlet holes with some panty hose.

It depends on how well they have been raised. I have had them going through the motions at 6 to 8 weeks and I have had young females gravid at that age too. When line breeding, in order to separate the sexes early I used to use testosterone. This makes the males colour up before they develop a gonopodium. That way I could keep the females virgin until I had the right males to put across them to get the breeding I desired.

It depends on the way you look at them, yes they are amphibious and they look similar, but you can tell it's a frog because it is mainly in water and look smooth, and you know it's a toad Because it looks old and warty. You can find them both near water because they both need it.
