Under normal circumstances every female guppy you come across will be gravid (pregnant). My advice is don't worry about it she will be pregnant.

I would suggest moving your pregnant guppy to a separate breeding tank. I would not recommend breeding boxes or any small compartments, because those are too small for your guppy and will stress it out. Instead, move it to a separate five to eight gallon tank where it won't be harassed by any other fish and will be able to have its babies peacefully. In this separate tank, do not place any gravel on the bottom. Do not put in any plastic decorations, rocks, castles, ships, etc. The only thing that should be in this tank is, of course, water, and floating plants at the top. Floating plants should ideally cover seventy-five percent of the surface, as the first instinct of the newborn guppy fry will be to race to the top of the tank. The mother will eat the guppy babies if there is no place for them to hide, so make sure to provide plenty of floating plants.

It seems someone somewhere is preying upon the gullibillity and ignorance of the fish buying public and selling something that is not a Koi as a Koi. (Officially/Taxonomicaly there is no such thing as a Koi Swordfish). Koi (Cyprinus carpio) is not a description it is a species. They are cold water egg layers that can grow to around 4 or 5 feet long. Koi are members of the goldfish family. Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are tropical livebearing fish and grow to a maximum of 2 inches. These two species obviously can not cross breed. It is possible that (In America) the common Swordtail Guppy is now being promoted/sold as a Koi Swordtail. If this is the case then yes all of the many different colour types and fin types of guppy (Poecilia reticulata) can and will readily breed with one another because they are the same species.

Bettas have a lot more personality than guppies, and require less space (5 gallon+). However, I have had boredom and tail biting issues with mine, so I had to upgrade to a 10 gallon tank with pygmy cories to stop him being bored. You mean if your guppy is giving birth and the babies won't pass? You should net the guppy out. Hold the guppy (yes, with your hands) in one hand and gently push your finger on the guppy's mid-area is a way that seems like you are rubbing the fish, but a little bit harder. If you are a novice, or just nervous, take your guppy to a vet and they will handle the situation. :)

YOU CAN, ITS ACTUALLY GOOD TO HAVE GOLDFISH in water the same temperature water as tropical fish. Goldfish prefer tropical fish flakes aswell. becasue that's what i do and they have been fine for ages.

I'm not sure this is right but, I've heard it takes 3 hrs for a male guppy to impregnate a female. But I've also heard that it can take up to 1 month.

If your goldfish are huddled together, there are a few explanations. One, the tank may be cold. The goldfish will huddle together to keep warm. Two, the tank may be too small. The goldfish will naturally migrate to the corners to try to spread out. Other than that, I'm not really sure. I would investigate these explanations first, before searching for others.
i have three fantail goldfish myself they always swim together i think the reason they huddle is because in the pet store the fish lived in a much smaller tank with many other fish it looked like they lived like that for awhile

well i have just started breeding guppies and i have looked it up a hundred times. this is what I've got for you: if you want them to develop their color then it would take about two months. but it goes a lot faster if you keep their water temperature lukewarm ( aka boiling ) but if you want them to be big enough to put in with the bigger fishes then it would take a week or two. just make sure you separate the mother from the babies as soon as you see the little guys.

It depends on how many guppies, and how well you keep up the tank. In a ten gallon tank, I'd say no more than ten guppies, and do frequent water changes. 10-15% weekly. They need a filter and a heater, as well.

They can live together but you will have to be carefull with the temperature setting of your heater/thermostat and try to keep the tank fairly steady at around 75F to suit both species of fish. Tetra Tropical Flakes are a good all round fish food. Bettas are insectivores and need more protein than guppies so it is a good idea to feed the fish a few Betta pellets and live brine shrimp occasionally.

No, unless the barbs are really execptionally peaceful. If not, they would bully the guppies and the guppies would be dead due to nips and injuries.

I have to disagree with the answer as I have a community tank which has Guppy and Barb (Tiger & Ruby) and my guppy bullies the barbs! All are living together and I have had only one injury which was actually to my Silver Dollar and was caused by him getting wedged in between heater and glass. You will want to remove the Goldfish. Goldfish can only live with Koi, also guppies and Glofish are tropical fish and need water temps. between 72-82 degrees. The Petco Compatibility Chart is also helpful.
