Why hammerheads have been overfished?

Hammerheads are one of the medium sized species of sharks, which make them an easy target for fishermen. Their fins are a delicacy. As a result of overfishing, hammerhead numbers have fallen drastically in many of their habitats. Fishermen usually cut off their fins and toss the remainder of the fish into the sea to die a horrible death. Loss of habitat is another danger to these sharks. Because of widespread uncontrolled hunting, hammerheads are considered an "endangered" species. Unless hunting them is stopped soon, these species may become extinct very soon.

Does the Lemon shark attack humans?

no they aren't. i have even swam with lemon, reef and nurse sharks in the bahamas. I was snorkeling and loads of sharks came and they don't do anything. Everybody was scared but i think that the sharks were even more scared!!! The really dangerous sharks are tiger and the great white sharks.

I will leave your original response above which opens with a falsehood.

While I am sure that it is not your intent, the facts are, that Lemons can be

dangerous to humans and there are recorded "unprovoked attacks" every year.

I have had a good deal of experience with sharks as a Divemaster, APNEA diver

and a film professional.

I was attacked in the Turks and Caicos by an 8-9ft Lemon and was only saved

by the intervention of a very special Dolphin named JoJo.

Nurse sharks will even attack if provoked. I have witnessed folks with less than sound judgement, being bitten by nurse sharks that were being tampered with.

Reef sharks (white tip, black tip) both can be very dangerous to humans, especially in frenzy

(they are now commonly chummed into frenzy as part of a really ill conceived events known as "shark dives")as they are incredibly fast and increase in numbers rapidly when blood is sensed in the water.

Arguably, the most dangerous shark is really the Bull Shark. While one can be killed by a sizable Great White "tasting" them by the sheer damage done by the massive teeth and jaws,

the Bull Shark has the highest concentration of testosterone known in nature.

I have been charged and attacked by them a few times and was able to fend them off.

They are super territorial and extremely aggressive.

I would call you lucky or fortunate at best.

Most shark attacks occur in 1-3 ft of water within 15 ft of the beach.
