A guinea pig is incedibly smart. they know what you look like, they know the sound of food, like a bag ruffling or a fridge opening. they understand phrases like " ring the bell" or "Yumyums" and much more!♥♥♥♥♥ they also only eat fruits and vetables!♥♥♥♥♥

my hamster i think they are dwarf because i know that dwarf hamster are like 3 to 5 inches.. So their teeth are like rabbits but little,my hamster has short at the front up teeth and long at the front down teeth, and color yellow

a hamster is just like a bear, its just smaller, hamsters are originally from the wild just like bears, they even have hamsters that are called teddy bear hamsters and black bear hamsters, so when you go to a pet store look really close at a hamster then think of a bear and realize that they do look alike. hamsters have tails like bears and look like bears but they're just smaller. bears are like hamsters cousins and hamsters are like bears cousins. hope this helped!

Russian Dwarf Hamster is not mean at all. It can bite though at first. When you first get it do not pick it up because it is not use to the environment yet wait til it gets to its cage then start patting it and holding it. After that, it will be really tame and hardly bite. The worst it does is nibble. The ones that are nice are the Fancy Dwarf Hamster and the Russian Dwarf Hamster.

A hamster is so small that it would be weighed in grams or ounces, instead of pounds. It will vary depending on the size and breed of hamster, but on average they are about 6 grams (0.2 ounces).

To mate your dwarf hamsters, you have to have one female and one male hamster.

Make sure they have separate cages, and when your female hamster is "in the heat",

P.S Female hamsters are in the heat every 4 days, and to tell if she is in the heat, just tickle her bottom and she will become stiff and in an awkward position, she will also smell very odd.

This could be for several reasons. Internal bleeding is one of the scarier ones. If it's a female, cysts could also be the problem. In any case, take it to a vet immedietly. Your pet's life could possibly be at stake.

Pine and other woods contain oils that can cause skin allergies and respiratory problems in small animals. A better choice would be recycled paper litter or corn cob litter.

Wild Hedgehogs get there food by finding insects or bugs such as centipedes, moths, flies, bees, etc., to eat as they are insectivores but they also are able to eat fruit, vegetables, and poisonous snakes. When a poisonous snake attacks a hedgehog, the venom is unable to penetrate it's quills and therefore the hedgehog waits for the snakes death then eats it's carcass.

Get a tape (like a finger cast) go to shoppers to buy some. And wrap it around the wound. Then go to petsmart and ask a hamster specialist to take a look at your hamster. THEN if you want you can give petsmart your phone number, and you can leave your hamster there, in that case they can call you when your hamster can go back home. :) I'm not quite sure because my hamster has never broken her leg but you should be fine good luck :D
If the leg really is painful, take it to the vet.


It is better to take the hamster straight to the vet if any thing else.

The vet said to use a q-tip and splint the leg and feed the hamster lots of protein. White meats. To leave the splint on for 3 days to a week. Just letting a broken leg hang will let it heal so it always hangs.
They can tolerate a lot of pain and it will never allow itself to set if it don't stay still next to the other bone.


if you leave your hamster alone then it will heal by itself. it will take a couple of weeks (3 or 4) if it doesnt heal then then take it to the vet.

Hamsters are rodents, and it is in their nature to wear down their constantly growing teeth by biting things. Almost anything solid is fair game to them, be it their toys, special gnawing chews, or the cage bars.

Yes, most likely when a mother has babies.Only some others like older ones are just aggressive. So make sure if you want 2 in one cage make sure they are social and are a non-aggressive species.

When you have baby hamsters with a mother it is best for you to not touch them. Your smell will stick to the baby hamsters. The mother will become frightened and will attack the baby hamsters if necessary. Some of the weaklings will get eaten too.

petco because petsmart is more of a dog and cat store even though they do have fish stuff. Petco is more generalized in pet areas

Petsmart is the better choice because of the better stuff they add in the fish food like iron, vitimine A, vitimine B1, vitimine B12 and calcum the point is you more for less! trust me i have a fish too his name is stripes cause he has stripes all over him:) and I give him petsmart fish food TOO!

The betta fish I bought from Petsmart came with fin rot and died in a week.

If a hamster is not eating or drinking take him to the vet quickly. It might be a sign of old age. If the hamster feels cold, and refuses to move, it could either be hibernating or dead. Try to keep hamsters away from drafts, they really don't like it. If it's new to the home, its normal for them to reject food and water and look pitiful for a while. This will also vary depending on the animal and its exact species. For instances, dwarfs have a harder time adjusting, where as short hairs, may have no trouble at all. Take him to the vets!

First: there is no such thing as a FANCY BEAR hamster, FANCY is added to the hamsters name by breeders, but they are no more FANCY than any other SYRIAN hamster!

SYRIAN is their real name (teddy fancy honey and there's a lot of other names)

Some get larger than others and it really depends on how active they are (some are more active some never use a wheel by choice) and diet (what u feed it and how much it eats)

Hamsters are not marsupials and so do not have pouches in he usual sense.

If your hamster is lossing a little weight then that's ok if it's lossing a lot then buy some crickets or meal worms only from the pet store they are high in protein and are a good food to give your hamster in its diet or it can be a yummy treat for your or anyone's hammy but not all hamsters like the same things your hamster might have a bold reaction or your hamster might ignore it or run away from it and that is totally fine and you can give your hamster more food than usuall, I hope this helps good luck
