Ultrasonic cleaning uses high frequency sound waves to agitate in a liquid. Cavitation bubbles induced by the agitation act on contaminants adhering to substrates like metals, plastics, glass, rubber, and ceramics. This action also penetrates blind holes, cracks, and recesses. The intention is to thoroughly remove all traces of contamination tightly adhering or embedded onto solid surfaces. Water or other solvents can be used, depending on the type of contamination and the workpiece. Contaminants can include dust, dirt, oil, pigments, rust, grease, algae, fungus, bacteria, lime scale, polishing compounds, flux agents, fingerprints, soot wax and mold release agents, biological soil like blood, and so on. Ultrasonic cleaning can be used for a wide range of workpiece shapes, sizes and materials, and may not require the part to be disassembled prior to cleaning.[4] Objects must not be allowed to rest on the bottom of the device during the cleaning process, because that will prevent cavitation from taking place on the part of the object not in contact with water.

stage 1: m11 bolts 40-50nm

stage 2: 120 degrees

stage 1: m8 bolts 12-18nm

You will need more then just a question or two, to change a head gasket, least to mention, some good quality tools, including a torque wrench, to reset the factory torques. The head bolts must be systematically torque in the proper sequence. My suggestion is spend a couple of bucks, about $15, and buy a Haynes or Chilton's Repair and Tune-up book at your local auto-parts store. both Haynes, and Chilton's, will show you step by step how to do it, as well as the tools required. Depending on the year of your engine, plan a weekend to accomplish this.

If you check your oil dipping stick and it looks milky or like mud instead of oil, its blown. Water and coolant is mixing with your oil. Also check ur muffler and see if thre is water comming out of it. Check for a an acute squirt or drip not the condensation from heat and cold weather.

The rod torque on a Chevy 350 V8 depends on which size rod bolt you have.

On the 3/8 rod bolt the torque is 45 ft/lbs

On the 11/32 rod bolt the torque is 35 ft/lbs

The most common cause of a blown head gasket is an over heating engine. Low coolant or coolant not circulating through the engine causes the engine to heat up and the gasket to fail.
