it would be a good idea but you don't have to, the lice/nits live in the roots of your hair so they wouldn't be on your towels,, only if you put them there, and in fact if they were on your towels thy would die after 2 days as they need human blood to live!! i hope i answered your question

I've had lice before pretty bad. It is probably better to kill the lice right away because if not then they will keep developing and it will be harder to get rid of them. To get rid of them my mom and I used lice shampoo and then after a shower we used a comb and combed my hair and we got some bugs out that way. Hi! I used baby oil for my kids hair when treating for headlice and found that it worked fantastically! Not only did it make getting the lice out but also the eggs too! They just slipped out and into the comb they went. Its all i use now.. Krystal
I've dealt with many cases of head lice before and baby oil is just a myth. It will not kill the lice. Lice can live in liquids for 14 hours, therefor it dose not kill them. But you can use baby oil for loosening the lice's grip on the hair. So if you have short hair I would say about 30 minutes, If medium length hair then leave in for 1 hour and for long hair leave in for 2-3 hours. After it is soaked in the oil then you must take a fine tip metal nit comb to comb them out.

no it has to be at least 140 temp to kill lice. or in dryer on high heat for twenty minutes. also steam and ironing are other alternatives for things that won't fit in dryer! and also running the sweeper all over the carpets everyday is probably the best thing second to coming any infested persons head daily and doing the second treatment so another infestation does not occur

And yes, people do spend time figuring out ways to kill lice and come out with many products to do so, it's not exactly a high traffic occupation, so if head lice were to be completely destroyed from the face of the earth i don't think it was be to traumatizing for the poor lame hair doctors who spend their lives looking at useless bugs under a microscope.
