Hermit Crabs

I suggest that you not use it because hermit crabs sand should be soft and moon sand can be clumped together. If the sand is clumped together the hermit crabs can't dig. The sand you choose is optional just make sure it DOESN'T have the following:

make sure it can't be clumped together

Make sure you get enough sand that is able to cover double the crab and its shell.

There is A LOT more things to learn about hermit crabs so do your homework and get as much info as possible!

Also make sure to bathe your crabs, here's how:

1. Fill up a bowl of room temp water( make sure the bowl is big enough to cover the crab fully

2.put 1 crab at a time in the water and let go of them when there at the bottom of the bowl.

3.When u see the crab come out(NOT to where you can see his tushie)(make sure it doesn't come fully out of his shell)so when u see the crab come out(not fully) gently take the crab out of the water and back into the tank

A land hermit crabs costs around five dollars, but their habitat costs a lot more.

There are indeed hermit crabs in Gulf Shores Alabama, and in theory you can reach down and grab them. Legally you might not be allowed to; I am not even sure how to find out about that. We usually find them around fort Morgan, or dauphin island.

well several miles down under the the sea where the sun can not penertrait there is a species called the vampire squid that can see where it is because all over its body there are little lights that have evolved on the suid over the years to help it see and this is how the squid catches its prey it can light up at its own will. its lights can shine blue or red and remember it can live right at the bottom of the sea floor which is several miles deep. i found this out from a sea version of david atinburah.hope this helps. by Dakoda

To protect yourself just whash your hands anytime you touch her or use purel because that kills germs just like soap but becareful to wash your hands anytime you toach her hands cuz you can get very ill and show her some pictures of how people got some diseases just from germs or from not washing her hands i am pretty sure she will be convinced to wash everytime now

Hermit Crabs can use cocanut husk, or soil that you get from any pet store used for reptiles. Hermit Crabs also use sand, they need a wet and also dry climate. If you get oil from the ground, you must bake it or freeze it in a really hot or cold temp. for a long while.

Hermit crabs are nocturnal, so it sounds like your hermit must have gone to sleep. Mine has slept for a week, once! If you get home and you find your hermit crab out of it's shell and looking see-through, then it has molted. Hermits usually molt on their 'birthday' but stay in their shells a while prior to molting.
