well when i was younger i got bullied because of the way i looked and loads of girls do. make up is like a cover for girls so they can feel more confident, and it works. i can't stand seeing people without make up because i feel ugly but when i do have make up on i feel that i look better and i feel better about myself. so basically make up is like a confidence booster for girls.

The closest known experience is If you're put under for an operation that takes some time. When you awake you feel as if you've been out for only seconds.
