Does homeowners insurance cover electrical damage caused by my pet?

It will ultimately depend on the language of your insurance policy,

Damages resulting from our choice of pet ownershp are typically not covered. This is because your home insurance is designed to cover losses that are accidental, unplanned or unexpected in nature. Damages caused by pets are generally considered a normal and expected part of pet ownership.

Does American Family Insurance Dog Breed Discriminate for Homeowners Insurance?

What do you mean by this question? If you are asking if they will not cover certain breed the answer is yes. Every insurance company I am aware of asks on their application if you own certain breeds or any dog who has bitten anyone. The top of the list always included Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinchers, etc. If you want to argue Pitt Bulls forget it. Over half of the bites last year were from Pit Bulls and almost every bite involving death was from a Pit Bull. No one should own a Pit Bull. They are far too aggressive and deadly.

What is recourse for homeowner whose insurance company paid contractor in full and contractor refuses to complete the job as agreed to with the insurance company?

Your contract with the tradesman is between "You and the Contractor", He did not contract with your insurance company. All the insurance company did is agree to pay the bill for you.

So you would need to bring your own civil or criminal action against your contractor depending on the circumstances.

Is the theft of a dog insured by homeowners policy?

Does homeowners insurance cover plumbing repair to a sewer?

Damage must be due to a covered cause for the damage to be claimed on your homeowners insurance. I cannot think of any way damage to a sewer could be from a covered cause.

Where and how to get Condo Insurance If Condo Insurance cancel you?

First we would need to know why you were cancelled? As if you were cancelled for misrepresentation or fraud then you are in trouble, but if you were cancelled for non payment then just call up some other insurance companies and get quotes should be no issue, you may see a jump in your premium and thats unavoidable and you will have to live with it for around 3 years. If you were cancelled for underwriting reasons, inquire as to what that was so you can change it for the next insurance company. Condo insurance is very complex and although it is cheaper then most insurances for property it is the most difficult to adjust for a claim.

Is damage from bees covered on your homeowners policy?

That depends on the homeowners policy you bought, most homeowners insurance policies don't cover insect infestations but many will cover resulting damages if any, once you have abated the infestation.

So first, call an exterminator to remove the Bees, Then if there is any remaining damage after removal, contact your home insurance company about coverage for any needed repairs. If damage is minor or below your deductible, it might be cheaper just to hire a handyman for that than filing a claim.

Does homeowners insurance cover motorcycles burnt in a home fire?

Sorry but self-motorized vehicle whether they are two wheel or four wheel are excluded from coverage under a homeowners policy. The only exception is a lawn mower used exclusively for maintenance of the property. Motorcycles should be covered on their own policy.

Is insurance required on a house if homeowner dies?

There is no legal requirement in the U.S.A. for homeowners insurance.

If there is still a mortgage on the home though, insurance is almost certainly required by the mortgage contract, but this is a contractual obligation, not a legal requirement.

Failure to maintain a policy as required by the finance note can result in single interest coverage being placed by the lender and billed to the homeowner or possible foreclosure.

Is homeowners ins required when homeowner dies and home is left to children and home is empty?

There is no legal requirement in the U.S.A. for homeowners insurance.

If there is still a mortgage on the home though, insurance is almost certainly required by the mortgage contract, but this is a contractual obligation, not a legal requirement.

Does homeowners insurance become null and void when the homeowner dies Would it cover loss of use for the grown children of homeowner?

The homeowners insurance would not become null and void just due to the death of the named insured. I would need more information to determine the second part of the question. The grown children would not be eligible for payment for loss of use just because of the death. If they are household members they are covered just like the named insured if the loss of use was due to a covered cause of loss. If no one else lives in the home the coverage would cease after it has been vacant for 90 days.

Does homeowner insurance cover someone else property also from theft?

No. A homeowners insurance policy is specific to the property of the named insured.

Who do you report your insurance agent to if they don't help you with a claim?

Insurance Agents by law are not permitted to process insurance claims, It's not their job. This would be a conflict of interest for the Agent. All the agent can do is forward information and facilitate information exchange and put you in touch with your Claims Adjuster. An agent who attempts to interfere with the claim can lose their job and possibly their agents license if they overstep their authority when it comes to claims.

Insurance Agents are not licensed as Claims Adjusters.

Agents are licensed as "Insurance Agents". Adjusters are licensed as "Insurance Adjuster". They are in totally different departments and have totally different job descriptions and responsibilities. So it does not appear that your agent is doing anything wrong.

The person you need to contact for help with your claim is the Claims Adjuster assigned to you, not your insurance agent.

Is a fall on a wet deck covered by medical insurance or homeowners?

It depends on who fell and why. Homeowners Insurance is Property Insurance

Homeowners Insurance may sometimes provide a very small amount of coverage for minor household related injuries for the named insured.

Visitor injuries would be subject to home owners liability terms.

Major Medical insurance provides comprehensive coverage up to the policy limits regardless of where a personal injury occurred.

It's much better to handle it with your medical insurer.

What does most insurance companies allow to install laminated flooring inside your house after a water leak?

It just depends on the scope of coverage you purchased and the amount of the loss you incurred. This type of loss is generally covered under "Accidental water discharge". If you selected this option when you purchased your policy you should have coverage.

The best advice is to simply phone your insurance agent and ask if you have the appropriate coverage for your loss.

Is damage from leaking pipe covered under your home owners insurance?

I think you'd need to check your policy. I had damage from a leaking shower which spoiled the plaster, paint and carpet in the adjacent room and it was not covered by my policy.

The insurance company claimed it was a fault in the building work and would be the builder's responsibility (the house was 20 years old at the time, and well out of warranty).

It turned out that the fault was that the tile grouting had become old and porous, and it was a relatively cheap fix - we just had to live with the stained wall and carpet.

Hopefully, if your home is badly damaged by a split water pipe, your policy will cover it.

Best of luck!

How do you get a home insurance company to give you a fair amount for repairs after hail damage?

Hello everyone!

After 2 hail storms my parents recently had a lot of damage done to their pool and gutters/downspouts. The insurance company guy came out and looked at it but the amount they are willing to give my parents for the damages is like half of what it is going to cost. The insurance company offered $2300. But 2 estimates so far for the pool alone came in at $3500 and $4000! And that's not even including the $1000 deductible my parents have.

My question is, what can my parents do or do you have any experiences that could help because I don't understand how the insurance company can only give my parents half of what the estimates from companies in the area are offering?! Please help with any advise/suggestions!

Thank you!!
