Being creative is part of the human genius needed for solving and overcoming problems. A lot of people forget that for everything they use or take for granted, someone else likely invented it. Being creative enriches one's life and allows people to be entertaining, impress their friends, and not be bored or boring. Creativity is responsible for art, dance, and music, as well as many inventions.

Related to creativity is imagination. Many inventions were discovered using imagination, mental images, and dreams. A nightmare helped create the sewing machine. Its inventor wasn't having much luck. He couldn't figure out how to take a conventional needle and build a machine that used that for sewing. Then he fell asleep and woke to a startle. In his dream, he dreamed that some native people were trying to kill him. They were throwing what looked like harpoons at him, but there was one thing funny about the harpoons. The ropes went through the end that went into the prey. When he later thought about the dream, he realized that was the solution to his problem with inventing a sewing machine. He realized he was looking at the wrong end of the problem by trying to figure out how to build a machine that used conventional needles. He realized it was time to invent another type of needle, and that if that was done, creating a machine to use it would be much easier.

Another part of this equation may be that some men are easier to be manipulated. If a guy is addicted to sex, for instance, then he is setting himself up to be manipulated by women who want to hold sex over him. If he is addicted to it, he will do whatever the women want to get what he wants. So the women get their money, furs, vacations, promotions, etc., all because the guys' addictions and proclivities make them vulnerable.

Even sexism and chauvinism make this possible. Not only do these traits position women as subservient to men, the flip side is that it also makes men responsible for women. Some old TV shows demonstrate this. A woman wanted to buy a car by herself. She learned all the logic, knew what she wanted, knew what it went for, etc. The dealer still wanted to cheat her. So she turned on the tears and played the sexist dealer by appealing to his ego and using his sexism against him. So many guys expect women to be weak and submissive, and when they actually encounter that, or think they do, they don't know how to handle it.

Positive consequences are similar to rewards. They are positive reinforcements that you receive for certain behaviors.

Yet another may want to ban scientific theories or political speech they disagree with. Hate crimes laws are being used to go after more than just hate crimes. They also censor hate speech, and a problem is that anybody can decide that more and more things are hate speech.

Even if you decide that some things should be censored, then there is the problem that it isn't an effective approach to reducing the spread of the content. If you say something should be censored, others will only want to see it more. They may want to see what makes it so bad. Those who want to see such things will only set up secret societies to get to use them without regards to the laws.
