I believe that they are. I just had a urine test and i had taken hydrocodone 3 hours prior to the test (prescription of course). Got the results back today and nothing detected. Another friend of mine is on oxycodone prescription and he was also tested. Oxycodone showed up in the test and he had to show his script. Norco is a name brand it comes in 5/325 or 10/325 Percocet comes in the same but it is much stronger I have been on it for more then 3 yrs and have had just about all of them Ive found it works longer but for you it may be different you just need to find something that works best for you and not worry about if one is stronger then the other "Get something that works best for you!

Hydrocodone is the generic for vicodin. Works just as good, and cheaper.

The 2 numbers represent the amount of Hydrocodone and the combination drug, usually Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc. The numbers are in milligrams - the 5 is the amount of Hydrocodone, the 325 is whatever it's combined with. As far as strengths go, it's a mid-range dosage for Hydrocodone, and the most commonly prescribed for acute pain patients.

Yes - as long as a drug isn't a time-release version (like OxyContin or MSContin), then it can be broken up or crushed for easier swallowing without loss of benefit of the effectiveness. Crushing a time-release drug disables the time-release feature and the resulting initial dose can cause an overdose or worse.

Personally, I use between 120 and 150 Percocet 10/325's per month, and I always chew them up a good bit before I wash them down. While it might be bitter to some, I've been using them every day for the last 9 years so I'm used to it.

It happened to me. I usually take methadone in a very small dose once per day. My doc was out of town when I needed a refill so the office called in a 1 day script of hydrocodone. The next day I took a urine test and failed. It showed up as hydromorphone. My doctor will not fill my script until I can prove that this can happen. Believe me that I will and whoever is responsible for this will be handed a big fat malpractice suit. You can't just cold turkey methadone.

But, these are rarely if ever seen and are the exception, not the rule of what you will be prescribed. Remember 10mg is the highest dosage pill you can possibly be prescribed that is formulated by a large mfg. company. NOTE: there is NO such thing as a "500mg" or "750mg" Hydrocodone or Vicodin tablet... that large number refers to the Acetaminophen (Tylenol) content that is co-formulated with the tablet. You want the lowest of the LARGE numbers which usually appear on the Rx bottle. (EXAMPLE: 10/325mg Hydrocodone is: 10mg Hydrocodone and 325mg Tylenol.)

There could be complications from adding the cyclobenzaprine to the mixture. Promethazine is sometimes mixed with opiates similar to hydrocodone in pharmaceutical preparations. The combination of promethazine and hydrocodone taken orally should be safer than the combination of all three, be aware that potentially dangerous interactions could still occur. Cyclobenzaprine should not be taken simultaneously with other CNS depressants (such as promethazine and hydrocodone). Also, the combination of just promethazine and hydrocodone will still cause powerful sedation with lack of coordination and possible dizziness. Do not drive under the influence of these drugs.

these are in two different drug classes, so one cannot really make an answer to that. vicodin is an opiate painkiller, while carisoprodol is a skeletal muscle relaxant. so i guess in terms of "strength" of addiction properties, vicodin is stronger (and may have more of an euphoric effect)

It may help with the withdrawls yes, but hten you are going to be addicted to the pain pill so it's best just to go to the hospital and have them detox you in the ER and go home and tough it out as bad as it seems!! Good luck friend!

Totally depends on the dosage involved, the tolerance and size of the person involved. Each person is different - someone not tolerant to opiates would succumb to respiratory arrest fairly quickly if they took too much, while someone like me who has used it for many years actually only gets increased side effects.

One possible outcome would be that the person could OD and not die at all, just wind up with brain damage. There are things worse than death.
