You received an application from Chase signed by Deb Walden?

After receiving an email with her signature, asking to "Confirm Your Identity" with an attachment, I forwarded it in a separate email directly to Chase. Here's their reply:

"Thank you for sending us this e-mail. We have already

forwarded it to our fraud department for additional

investigation.

Although the e-mail appears to be from Chase, it is not.

It has been designed by fraudsters with the intent to

trick you into providing private information about

yourself and your accounts. This is known as "phishing,"

and the number of people who fall victim to this scam is

unfortunately rising.

It is not our practice to:

- Send e-mail that requires you to enter personal

information directly into the e-mail

- Send e-mail threatening to close your account if you do

not take the immediate action of providing personal

information

- Send e-mail asking you to reply by sending personal

information

You should never reply to, click or enter any information

if you receive a suspicious e-mail.

We actively investigate each of these attempts and work

hard to stop any further unauthorized e-mails from being

sent. Although we did not send the e-mail, please know

that we regret any inconvenience or concern it may have

caused you.

Thank you,

Bindumol Jacob

How does time and place affect identity?

Time and place significantly shape identity by influencing cultural norms, values, and experiences. Historical context can determine societal expectations and opportunities available to individuals, while geographical location impacts social interactions and community dynamics. As people navigate different periods or regions, they adapt their identities based on prevailing conditions, leading to diverse expressions of self that reflect their unique circumstances. Thus, identity is not fixed but rather evolves in response to the interplay of time and place.

Retail theft, in the state of Florida, under $299 is a misd. The fines and court cost can be up to $500 and you could spend up to a year in jail. Will that occur probably not. Your sentencing depends on if you have ever been arrested before and the severity of the offence. Also retail stores can impose a civil restitution fine on you as well. Why you can not use Debit Card for online transactions like Credit Card?

you usually can. perhaps your debit card doesn't have the "visa" or "mastercard" logo. If not, then you will have to get one that does or get a major credit card. But you should always use a credit card for online purchases. They have a higher level of consumer protection that doesn't exist on debit cards. Here's an interesting article that i came across that discusses the difference: http://www.creditscorehero.com/blog/2008/11/buyer-beware-liquidation-sales.html

How do you know a banker's draft is not a fake?

You don't. Only the bank will be able to tell. Even so, DO NOT release any goods until the draft has been 'given value' or you are able to 'draw on the funds'. Clearing means something different in bank speak. This process usually takes 3-5 working days. Don't risk it, it's bound to be a large purchase if you need a bankers draft for it.
