What voltage reading would you get from a 277 480 volt system?
From a three phase four wire distribution system the voltages would be as follows. From L1 to N - 277 volts. From L2 to N - 277 volts. From L3 to N - 277 volts. From L1 to L2 - 480 volts. From L2 to L3 - 480 volts. From L3 to L1 -480 volts.
What is the difference between a Y - delta starter and a star - delta starter?
No difference.
Y is used as a symbol to indicate the star connection.
Internal Autoweld. An Internal Autoweld is a machine
operated welder that is used to weld the interior seams in a pipeline.
What are the types of multi tester?
A Multimeter is an electronic instrument, every electronic technician and engineer’s widely used piece of test equipment. A multimeter is mainly used to measure the three basic electrical characteristics of voltage, current, and resistance.
There are two types of multimeters:
Analog Multimeter: The Analog Multimeter or VOM (Volt-Ohm-Milliammeter) is constructed using a moving coil meter and a pointer to indicate the reading on the scale.
Digital Multimeter: We mostly used a multimeter is a digital multimeter (DMM). The DMM performs all functions from AC to DC other than analog. It has two probes positive and negative indicated with black and red color as shown in the figure.
there are some best multimeters for HVAC.
What are the two types of digital logic?
AOI logic, which uses AND, OR,and INVERTER(NOT) gates
NAND/NOR Logic, this uses only NAND or NOR gates respectively.
Do you have a diagram for converting 277 volt light to 110 volt?
It sounds like the fixture that you acquired was from an industrial site. 277 volts is the star point voltage of a 480 three phase system. You will have to change the ballast out to the proper voltage that you need. If you want to spend some money you can get a step up auto transformer to make the conversion but the cost would off set the cost of a new fixture many times.
a kilowatt is 1000 watts
a megawatt is 1000000 watts
a gigawatt is 1000000000 watts
a terrawatt is 1000000000000 or a million million watts
The SPM-D11 uses an independent analog signals for real and reactive load sharing. The Easygen uses a single CAN communication line for the same load sharing. As is, there is no way for them to share. However, there are Woodward devices called Load Share Gateways (LSG). There is a model for real power sharing and another for reactive power sharing. These gateways convert the Easygen CAN to SPM-D analog load sharing system. The LSG's will permit the Easygen and SPM-D to operated on a common bus.
How is a 15 amp 277 volt lighting circuit wired at the panel?
The voltage of 277 volts is the wye voltage of a three phase 480 volt distribution. In the 480 volt CDP (Central Distribution Panel), you will need a 600 volt rated single pole 15 amp breaker installed in the CDP. The load will be connected to the output terminal of the breaker and the other conductor will be connected to the neutral bus in the CDP. The minimum size conductor for the 15 amp circuit will be a #12 copper conductor.
Can you operate a 480 v 3 PH motor on 220 v 3 PH?
Most 3ph Motors are rated for both voltages. High Voltage Wiring (440-480) Connections goes as follows L1=>T1,12 L2=>T2,10 L3=>T3,11 4=>7 5=>8 6=>9. Low Voltage (220-240) goes as follows L1=>T1,6,7,12 L2=>T2,4,8,10 L3=>T3,5,9,11. "L" Denotes Line Side Voltage (Power Coming to the Motor) "T" Denotes Terminal Motor Leads. You may not have #10, 11,or 12 leads as most motors since the 1980's have been internally wired inside the windings to T1, T2, and T3 or 1, 2, and 3 which are the same wires. Usually the Junction box on the side of the motor has this already listed under it's cover. If it shows a Low and a High Configuration, you have a Dual Voltage Motor.
What are the disadvantages of insulators?
One disadvantage of a insulator is that it will not let current flow if you need it to. By the same token one advantage of an insulator is that it will not let current flow if it tries to.
How many bends in a conduit run would be required before the use of a pull box?
There has to be a pull box between every four quarter bends in a conduit run.
How does across the line starting work?
There are mainly two types of starting methods. Reduced voltage starting and across the line starting. Reduced voltage starting comes in the configuration of the wye-delta starter. Across the line starter is the combination of voltage source, motor contactor and motor load.
The utility company's policy is set, to allow only a certain horsepower load to utilize across the line starting. This is in the neighbourhood of 25 HP up to 50 HP. High horsepower loads draw high current, up to 600%, of the motors full load rated amps. This high current inrush tends to draws the line voltage down and to prevent this condition wye-delta starters must be used.
In the electrical market today solid state soft starts have taken the place of wye delta starters.
When using a three phase contactor across the line for motor starting, a three phase overload block must be used. The wiring of the contactor consists of taking L1, L2 and L3 of the supply voltage and connecting it to the top of the contactor on terminals L1, L2 and L3 of the contactor. The motor load is connected to T1, T2 and T3 on the bottom of the overload block.
If you are using a three wire control for operating the contactor, the contactor must have a N.O. contact on it to seal the contactor in once the contactor coil has been energized.
The overload block has three N.C. contacts, one for each leg of L1, L2 and L3. These three contacts are wires in series to the stop - start circuit.
Years ago on old schematic diagrams these contacts used to be placed on the down stream side of the magnetic starter's coil (between the coil and the neutral). When the overloads tripped the voltage was left on the control circuit which was found to be dangerous for trouble shooting. Now for safety reasons, the overload contacts are positioned in the beginning of the start- stop circuit so that when a overload trips, the whole stop - start circuit becomes de-energized.
Consumers selling goods and services electronically to other consumers best describes?
consumer-to-consumer electronic commerce.
General lightingloads for dwellings are calculated at how many VA per square foot?
According to the 2005 NEC - 3VA per square foot, but see also article 220.14(J) for receptacles included in the calcs.
A split bolt connector rated for the voltage and amperage of the circuit.
How does an open or split jaw amp meter work?
It puts an iron core around a conductor, which allows the meter's circuitry to sense the strength of the magnetic field. The strength of the field around the conductor is related to the amount of current flowing.

An ELSP is a current limiting fuse used in series with the primary fuse of a transformer.
