What is the density of aluminized steel?

The density of aluminized steel is 2710. Additionally, the density of its counterpart, carbon steel, is slightly different at 2833.

What is a macerator?

A macerator is a device used to breakdown waste from the toilet into a slurry form so that it can be pumped against gravity into a holding tank or other sewage system.

not widely used in UK

One of the main uses of the Macerator early game is doubling mining profit. Every ore block placed into the Macerator creates two ore dust. If macerating Redstone Ore, it outputs 6 redstone dust, instead of the usual 4-5. Each piece of dust can be smelted into a single ingot, yielding two ingots for each ore, if macerated.

Who made the first Volvo?

The company AB Volvo had no activities until 10 August, 1926 when the SKF Sales Manager Assar Gabrielsson and Engineer Gustav Larson, after one year of preparations involving the production of ten prototypes, set up the car-manufacturing business Volvo AB within SKF group. The first car was the Volvo ÖV 4, on 14 April, 1927 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo

What is the difference between fixed and flexible automation?

Flexible automation ;

You have to consider it when you need low production rate, varying in demand and shot product cycle. As you see the difference between these two automation's name Flexible automation has flexibility to deal with design variations.

Fixed automation ;

In the opposite of Flexible automation should be consider when you have high demand volume and long product cycles.

The product unit of fixed automation is more cheaper than the one which made in flexible manufacturing system.

Can you use pelican hooks in rigging a crane?

Most pelican hooks can be used when rigging a crane. It is important to follow all manufacturer's instructions when using heavy equipment.

Where in Brookyn Heights is the house in which Washington Roebling lived while he oversaw the building of the Brookyn Bridge?

The following link should take you to an excerpt from the book "Walking Brooklyn" by Adrienne Onofri, which says the now-demolished Roebling house in Brooklyn Heights was on the block of Columbia Heights near Orange Street.

Link to the excerpt:

http://books.google.com/books?id=dO1LR6t9uVcC&pg=PA6&lpg=PA6&dq=%22columbia+heights%22+%22Brooklyn+Heights%22+roebling&source=web&ots=bqILfl-f_C&sig=43I1rXfc2fgWBdLqTU0AmxVYC2s&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=8&ct=result

Washington Roebling lived at 110 Columbia Heights, which no longer exists. 124 Columbia Heights is the current address of the building that sits on the site where 110 Columbia Heights once stood.

I have some photos and video of the current location on my blog post, Washington Roebling's Brooklyn Bridge:

Definition of 4-20 mA?

Previously when transmitters were configured for 0-20mA signal it was very difficult to identify an open circuit at 0mA,hence to supersede this defect it was decided to configure the transmitter as 4-20mA signal,so that if there is open signal it can be easily identified.

Uses of boiler?

A boiler is primarily used for heating. Water is heated and forced through pipes to heating receptacles called radiators. Giant boilers are also used for electricity. Water is heated to turn giant turbines that produce electricity.

What are instrument leak test procedures?

Instrument leak test procedures vary depending on the type of instrument. It is very common to use either air or a liquid under pressure to check the instrument for leaks.

What is a delta pressure sensor?

It is a slang tern given to a Differential Pressure Sensor or Transducer.

How much does a 30MW condensing steam turbine cost?

Depends on the features (extractions, blade rows, inlet temperature/pressure...), but maybe around $2 million or so.

What are the specifications of a steel W-beam that is 203x46?

A W-beam, or a wide I-beam with the designation of W203x46 is wide-flanged (the "W" part), and has specifications that include a flange-to-flange outside depth (or height) of 203 millimeters (picture the letter "I" and it's the top-to-bottom dimension). It will also weigh on the order of 46 kilograms per linear metre. Use the link below for more information.

What are the limitations of a solid state relay?

Stay with-in the amperage capability, the voltage capability, and use a heat sink to dissipate the heat build up.

What is the function of a grounding transformer in a dc electric locomotive and what would make it heat up?

A grounding transformer provides a place to connect the distribution system ground where a delta system provides the AC supply.

What is tata motors's Quality policy?

" We shall strive to deliver products to meet and exceed Customer expectations of Quality, Delivery and cost "

Who are major competitors for dove equipment and machinery co ltd?

How does a eddy current type tachometer work?

it consist of a permanent magnet as stator and a low resistance solid metalic cylinder as rotor, which drives the pointer and scale arrangement. the rotor is also connected to shaft which has a provition to get contact with the rotating machines, whose rpm has to be measured. when it get contact to a rotating machine the shaft rotates which eventually rotates the metalic cylinder in strong magnetic field , its known that when a low resistant metal rotated in a strong magnetic field eddy current gets induced in the low resistance metal opposing the cause of action which held the pointer in equilibrium position showing some reading which will be caliberated for the corresponding speeds hence it shows the correct rpm in which the machine rotates

Does pipeline transportation uses any kind communication systems?

For communications needs there would be some form of closed-circuit ( incongruously also called Open Line) telephones at each major pumping or distribution center to keep in touch. there might be remote control devices akin to engine-room telegraphs as used on ships. I have seen one ( photo of a museum exhibit_ which has pump power settings on it- as opposed to engine speed commands, this was used with a hydraulic dredge. If only for safety reasons, someting like this, and an open line phone would be needed, also to protect things if things broke down., a rapid response would be secured in accidents- Major break between miles 4 and five- shut the system down on that end! . e.g.

Advantages of mild steel?

  • It is a popular type of steel because it is cheap and its material properties fit into many product applications.
  • Mild steel has a relatively low tensile strength, but it is cheap and malleable and its surface hardness can be increased through carburizing.

etc

What are the bad things about reinforced concrete?

It is quite expensive and isn't very god for the environment, it lets of emmisions into the atmosphere and is very ugly, yet it is veruy reliable and strong. Go subflooring instead.

What is a Darlington pair?

A Darlington pair is two transistors connected together to give a very high current gain.

How do you drill a hole through a mirror?

There are special drills that are made specially for drilling many types of glass.

They work perfectly well on mirrors. For the best results you should drill from the back of the mirror, this reduces the chance of the reflective coating from splitting away from the glass.
