How can you tell the difference between a general and specific tolerance on a drawing?

IDK that is why i asked

General tolerance refers to all untoleranced dimensions, and should be covered by a note on the drawing, eg tolerance unless noted otherwise plus or minus 0.25 mm

Specific tolerance will be included with the individual dimension, either as dimension limits or dimension plus tolerance.

Can someone tell me what kind of automatic level I have. Cant find any information on it anywhere. Its a East Coast Instruments ECI-240 Magn 24x stadia 100 1 Light grey in color and works just fine.?

It's seems as though you have answered the question yourself. You have stated exactly what it is (manufacture and model number). It was made in China and their exclusive distributor here in the US is "Instrument Sales & Service" out of Wilmington, DE. In case you need it, their number is 1-800-874-7637.

What is PCB layout?

Once a circuit is designed the means to connect all devices comes under a layout on a PCB printed circuit board. the layout means locating and connecting all of the designed circuit.

What equipment is used to check phase rotation?

A phase rotation meter. Or a small three phase motor can be wired up and its rotation observed.

Applications of induction motor?

A single phase induction motor is mainly used in fans.It is capacitor start capacitor run induction motor. In three phase induction motor squirrel cage induction motor is mainly used in elevators, lifts, cranes.slip ring induction motor is mainly used in electrically driven ships.

How does a retractable spring mechanism work?

There's a flat torsion spring fixed on both the outter wall of a spinning disk or whatever the part that is turning is. The center of the spring is then fixed on a stationary point. When the disk turns the spring is put under tension and when released will go back to its original starting position.

What is the function of an eccentric pipe reducer in the suction side of a pump?

if we use concentric reducer at suction of pipe ,due to high turbulence flow of fluid ,some vapour pressure generate which generate bad effects on impeller of pump ,which decrease pump efficiency , so to avoid this problem the eccentric reducer's use in pump suction

Do the pipline losses reduce after the pipeline are in use for 1 year or so?

No. The pressure drop remains the same. The only thing that could led to a smaller pressure drop after 1 (or more) year, is the internal surface friction coefficient. But this coefficient does not change in a measurable way. Perhaps small particles are re-arranged inside the pipe, but the coefficient remains the same. So does pressure drop.

How do you wire for reversed polarity?

the hot and neutral are wired forwards the ground and neutral are wired backwards

What happens when connection for chilled water FCU Coil is reveresed?

the density of water is higher than the copper coil it doen not effect the gravitational force, because of the higher water density, the water try to achive the area of coil as we know the copper is the good conductor of cooling it absorb the cooling soon, we get the more cooling effect where air to be pump,if we does reverse connection in fcu so, cause of gavitional force water water will travel through the ciol soon and rusult into less cooling effect.as copared to previous connection

How does a ring fetter shaft coupling work?

The ring fetter is made up of 3 pieces. The outer cylinder, inner cylinder and the locking bolts. As you draw in on the locking bolts (usually caps screws) the inner and outer cylinders are squashed together locking the shaft to the bearing. To remove there are jacking bolt holes. The ring fetter is a one shot deal. the cylinders are distorted and win not seat properly again.

How do you calculate horse power of water pump?

You can approximate the horsepower capabilities of any electric motor by calculating incoming electric power. This is done by simply multiplying the rated voltage by the rated current. This will give you a unit of watts. There are about 746 watts per horsepower. Say if the motor is about 85% efficient, then incoming power will match output power minus this efficiency. Anyways, multiply incoming power by .85 and divide by 746 should give an approximate horsepower of the water pump's motor.
