Intel Core 2

The Intel Core 2 is a line of 64-bit microprocessors from Intel first released in 2006. They are available in single, dual and quad-core editions. The Intel Pentium Dual-Core processors (with the exception of the T2060, T2080, and T2130 models) are also part of this line.

What is the difference between dual core and i3?

The short answer is that the i3 is in fact a dual core processor, but with more features than the previous generation of dual core processors (Intel Core Duo.)

The Intel i3 processor has a faster bus speed and more cache memory than an Intel Core Duo processor. It also has integrated graphics.

For those of you building your own computer, you can buy an i3 processor and a motherboard with an integrated HDMI output. This means that you don't have to buy your own video card.

Caveat: In the i3/i5/i7 line of processors, if you get a quad-core processor (like the i5-760) the trade-off is that it does not have the integrated graphics, and so you should not get a motherboard that has the on-board video outputs.

I rightly enjoy this answer above, but would like to add that all i3, i5, and i7 Intel processers possess integrated graphics solutions after Lynnfield. This means Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, and Haswell. This means if the i3, i5, or i7 has a 4 digit number instead of 3 digit number for reference, it will support integrated graphics. An i5-760 has no integrated video, but an i5-2500k does.

Core 2 Duo uses a different socket than all iterations of the i3 processor, which is important to note if a consumer is interest in upgrading / changing from Duo to i3.

What is the homonyom for core?

A homonym in the strictest sense is a group of words that have the same pronunciation and the same spelling. For example, stalk (of a plant), and stalk (to follow discreetly).

However, the term has been used to define a group of words that have the same spelling, and different pronunciation; or in this case: the same pronunciation but different spelling.

'Corps' is pronounced exactly the same as 'core', but is spelt differently. Corps literally means body (french: corps; latin: corpus; both mean body), and can refer to:

- a large formation, e.g. the diplomatic corps (the body of diplomats)

- a military subsection, e.g. the united states marine corps (the body of US marines)

amongst many different applications of the word.

Hope this helps!

Is a 3.0 ghz processor a good thing?

It's impossible to answer that question. All else being equal, higher is better. However, a six-core 2.8 GHz processor will blow a single-core 3.0 GHz processor out of the water for some applications.

Does dell dimension 2350 have dual core processor?

No, it has single core technology.

These are the options that come with that model:

Intel Pentium 4 that runs at 1.80, 2.00, 2.40, or 2.50 GHz

Intel Celeron that runs at 1.70, 2.00, 2.10, 2.20, or 2.30 GHz

Difference between Intel core 2 duo and core I7?

core2duo is faster but corei7 is much more faster because it can open many program at a time, it includes more graphics

Which is better Intel quad core Q6600 or Q9650?

Q9650 is faster and better about heat than q6600. Also it's easier to oc.

What proccessor is faster core 2 duo or core i5?

Core2Duo is a dual-core processor (two processors), as the i5 is a quad-core processor (four processors). So the i5 is, significantly.

What operating systems do amd and Intel processors support?

They both support Windows, Linux (& other Unix variants such as BSD), and can also support Mac OS X. However, most Mac OS X use primarily Intel instead of AMD.

Buying more memory for a AMD Athlon 64?

You cannot buy more memory for a processor. You can however buy memory for your computer. More memory means a faster computer, but suffers from diminishing returns.

Can the gateway ML6230 motherboard handle the Intel T7600 dual core processor?

Yes, you have the 943GML Chipset and a Celeron M 520 @ 533FSB, 1MB L2 Cache. Merom Socket MCore-2-Duo`s @ 667FSB work great, just make sure you have the latest BIOS, which is 77.15. I installed a T7200 in a ML6230 and up`ed the RAM to 2GB it really made a difference in it`s ability to multitask and perform CPU resource hogging task like converting video.

Your best CPU Options for Socket M @ 667FSB Core-2-Duo are

1) T5500 2MB Cache

2) T5600 2MB Cache

3) T7200 4MB Cache

4) T7400 4MB Cache

5) T7600 4MB Cache

6) T7600g 4MB Cache

What is the most current Pentium processor available in India?

What do core to duo means?

Core 2 Duo is the marketing term given to a line of Intel processors which have two processor units on the same chip.

Is a single core processor as fast as a dual core 1.8 with the same memory?

Yes, and no. A 1.8 Ghz processor will process things at... 1.8 Ghz. A dual core processor will process things at 1.8Ghz. A dual core, however, can process many different things at the same time alot easier and efficiently then a single core processor can.

For games, applications, ect, if the program can be multithreaded, then you will see a huge increase in computing speeds for the program.

As for games, anything more then 2.6 Ghz is not needed. The extra money needed to bump up from a 1.8 Ghz processor to, say, a 2.8 Ghz, would be more then enough money to buy you a much better processor.

Can you use a q6600 on your acer f672cr motherboard?

No, i have the same motherboard/pc. It's limited to 800FSB. The Q6600 is 1066FSB. If you're still looking for a upgrade the best processor would be a E4700.

Which is the better processor Intel core i3-550 or AMD Athlon ii x2 250u?

i would say the core i3 by far. the athlon II x2 250u is an ultra energy efficient cpu. while not a bad cpu at all and very good for daily use, the 250u is only 1.6 ghz. the i3s are dual core but the hyperthreading can make it "act" as a 4 core with certain apps. Benchmark results are as follows using Passmark CPU Mark AMD Athlon II X2 250uhas secured a score of 980. Intel core-i3 550 has secured a score of 3160.

What is the problem of i3 processor of Intel?

if i am not using laptop for games which processor will be best for me out amd 6 and i3. thanks
