Both of them are torally differant to each other Intel is a processor while sybase is a database

What are the pros and cons of Intel vs amd processors?

Sure why not, lets whip out the guns and rocket launchers of the internet battlefield. Yes fellow WIKIANSWERers the question has been asked! Which one is better? Intel? or AMD? Pros AMD: better heat resistence equating to better overclocking results and better overall reliability. Cons AMD: comparably slightly behind the technology speed curve. Not setting the standard of modern day computing solutions. Pros INTEL: Currently (March '09) on top of the speed competition and the favorite in the computer gaming community. Cons INTEL: Consistently having stability problems and even hardware failures. Compared to the rich man's processor because in small number of cases, it is being replaced frequently. Sensitive to overclocking and overheating. So let the battle begin! I'll fire the first shot. AMD is BETTER!

Does Intel manufacturer motherboards?

Yes. Intel manufacturers both OEM and retail desktop motherboards.

Can you upgrade an Intel Pentium 4 to a 64-bit Xeon processor?

No. Xeon processors use different chipsets and sockets, thus they are not interchangeable with mainstream processors.

What is the difference between dual core and i3?

The short answer is that the i3 is in fact a dual core processor, but with more features than the previous generation of dual core processors (Intel Core Duo.)

The Intel i3 processor has a faster bus speed and more cache memory than an Intel Core Duo processor. It also has integrated graphics.

For those of you building your own computer, you can buy an i3 processor and a motherboard with an integrated HDMI output. This means that you don't have to buy your own video card.

Caveat: In the i3/i5/i7 line of processors, if you get a quad-core processor (like the i5-760) the trade-off is that it does not have the integrated graphics, and so you should not get a motherboard that has the on-board video outputs.

Source can be found in the link posted in Sources and related links below.

I rightly enjoy this answer above, but would like to add that all i3, i5, and i7 Intel processers possess integrated graphics solutions after Lynnfield. This means Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, and Haswell. This means if the i3, i5, or i7 has a 4 digit number instead of 3 digit number for reference, it will support integrated graphics. An i5-760 has no integrated video, but an i5-2500k does.

Core 2 Duo uses a different socket than all iterations of the i3 processor, which is important to note if a consumer is interest in upgrading / changing from Duo to i3.

What is Intel 8279?

Intel 8279 is a Keyboard/ Display interface which was basically developed for 8085/8086 microprocessors.l

A technique by which the speed of the processor is scaled back to that it uses less power and creates less heat is called what?

In general, underclocking.

Some specific types of underclocking include "dynamic frequency scaling", "CPU throttling", "SpeedStep ", "Cool'n'Quiet ", "PowerNow!", "Downclocking", "LongRun" and "LongHaul".

What does an Intel Pentium dual core processor do?

An Intel Pentium Dual Core processor is a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and is effectively the "brain" of most computers. The Pentium processor was most common in the early 21st Century and has subsequently been replaced with faster models.

Are there processors i4 i6 i8?

no. intel has only odd series numbering..i dont think it has any technical importance. may be just a marketing strategy.

Difference between Intel core 2 duo and core I7?

core2duo is faster but corei7 is much more faster because it can open many program at a time, it includes more graphics

What proccessor is faster core 2 duo or core i5?

Core2Duo is a dual-core processor (two processors), as the i5 is a quad-core processor (four processors). So the i5 is, significantly.

Is the Intel Pentium 4, 3GHz CPU good enough for 3D modeling?

The Intel P4 line is considered obsolete and won't be the best choice for renderng.

What operating systems do amd and Intel processors support?

They both support Windows, Linux (& other Unix variants such as BSD), and can also support Mac OS X. However, most Mac OS X use primarily Intel instead of AMD.

Buying more memory for a AMD Athlon 64?

You cannot buy more memory for a processor. You can however buy memory for your computer. More memory means a faster computer, but suffers from diminishing returns.

Can the gateway ML6230 motherboard handle the Intel T7600 dual core processor?

Yes, you have the 943GML Chipset and a Celeron M 520 @ 533FSB, 1MB L2 Cache. Merom Socket MCore-2-Duo`s @ 667FSB work great, just make sure you have the latest BIOS, which is 77.15. I installed a T7200 in a ML6230 and up`ed the RAM to 2GB it really made a difference in it`s ability to multitask and perform CPU resource hogging task like converting video.

Your best CPU Options for Socket M @ 667FSB Core-2-Duo are

1) T5500 2MB Cache

2) T5600 2MB Cache

3) T7200 4MB Cache

4) T7400 4MB Cache

5) T7600 4MB Cache

6) T7600g 4MB Cache

Why does the Intel Pentium 4 use an Arabic digit when previous processors used Roman numerals?

There are several reasons this might have been the case, all related to marketing. The Pentium 4 was released at a time when AMD was just beginning to become a major competitor, and the Pentium III was having trouble keeping up. Calling the successor "Pentium IV" may have drawn jokes that the processor was in some sort of trouble or needed help, as "IV" in English is used as an abbreviation for "intravenous," and is used in medicine as a way of transfusing blood or replenishing lost fluids and nutrients. Similar jokes were made later on about the Pentium 4 EE, calling it the "Emergency Edition."

Another reason is that "IV" implies that there will be a sequel, forcing Intel to use the Pentium brand for another iteration.
