This results in he villagers finding Rin stealing fish in order to feed him and she is beat up for it. Sesshomaru asks her were she gets her bruises though she doesn't speak she smiles at him. Uhm, I've been out of Inuyasha for a while... but I'm pretty sure he becomes human every night of the new moon, when the moon is not visible in the sky. why this is, i don't know... apparently all half-demons have a time when they become human for a little while. Naraku does the same thing, but he can control his transformations...
But yeah, I'm sure there's been other times he's been human for a bit in the show/book.
