After reading many of their lyrics, especially those of 'For the Greater Good Of God' and 'The Sign Of the Cross', it seems the band asserts the existence of a christian god. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the members, apart from Nicko McBrain who is a practicing christian. Also, Bruce was married in a church so he maybe also..

No it is not. That's only what American critics said. They called them satanic because of there dark song subjects and there mascot Eddie.
It would depend upon which show in 2008. Lauren Harris is opening for all shows, but there is also another band with them usually as well, including Avenged Sevenfold, Anthrax and others. Check their tour dates (http://www.ironmaiden.com/index.php?categoryid=15) for more information about a specific venue.
Answer:
Iron maiden is, and always truly will be, the best band in existence. the Irons even influenced Metallica. Iron maiden songs combine history and literature with face-melting riffs, and have the best instrumentals I've ever heard. There really is no question here; Metallica is only more popular because they appear in the media. I dunno why some dumb kids vote metallica over iron maiden when they've not heard of the Irons and barely even gotten into metallica, but chavs like that exist, I suppose.
If you still think Metallica is better than Maiden, listen to about any song from the Powerslave album, preferably the title track, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, or two minutes to midnight. If you still aren't impressed, look at Hallowed be thy Name, Transylvania, even Run to the Hills, or Loneliness of the long distance runner.

Iron Maiden, even before Metallica has sold out, wins.
Metallica is a great band before the Black Album, they have great riffs, which, the best are, made by DAVE MUSTAINE.
Iron Maiden, first of all, has one of the greatest vocalists in history. Bruce Dickinson has a great voice, etc, that makes him one of the greatest metal vocalist in history.
Iron Maiden has a complex and great guitar layering made by the 3 guitarists, who are all highly skilled, and the drummer is also highly skilled. Steve Harris is a great musician and a bassist, and is far better than Metallica.
Overall, Iron Maiden > Metallica.
All metallica's best riffs were from mustaine and maiden is an incredible band im tired of so many metallica fan boys. Iron Maiden are technically more gifted in the sense that each of their guitarists have amazing abilities and are incredibly synchronised. They also have a technically better vocalist in Bruce Dickinson compared to Hetfield.

Metallica have sold more albums than Iron Maiden and Hetfield has a better metal voice than Bruce Dickinson because Bruce uses high voices where as James uses more a roar Dave Mustaine was thrown out of the band before kill 'em all was released and james is a talented guitarist and kirk composes his solos better
Cliff Burton is a lot better than Iron Maidens bassist he was the best bassist in metal
Overall Metallica>Iron Maiden
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iron Maiden beat Metallica in every category. Vocals, guitar skills, bass, drums, also a much more consistent band, having released 9 albums in a row that were all awesome in their own unique way (Number Of The Beast, Piece Of Mind, Powerslave, Live After Death, Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, No Prayer For The Dying, Fear Of The Dark, and a Real Live Dead One). Maiden perform so much better live, having picked up a Brit award for their live shows recently. Metallica are only more popular because they were way more mainstream than Maiden.
Songs like The Journeyman and Blood Brothers beat songs like Fade To Black and Nothing Else Matters.
Paschendale, Dance of Death and No More Lies beat The Unforgiven II, The Memory Remains and King Nothing.
Not to mention Maiden's unbelievable classic catalog, consisting of classics like Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, Sanctuary, Number Of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Children Of The Damned, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, Where Eagles Dare, Revelations, Flight Of Icarus, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Powerslave, Aces High, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Wasted Years, Heaven Can Wait, Caught Somewhere In Time, Alexander The Great, Loneliness of the Long Distant Runner, Moonchild, The Clairvoyant, The Evil That Men Do, Infinite Dreams, Can I Play With Madness, Only The Good Die Young, Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter, Tail Gunner, Fear Of The Dark, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Be Quick Or Be Dead, From Here To Eternity... etc etc.
IRON MAIDEN'S 'GREATEST HITS' IS BIGGER THAN MOST BANDS' ENTIRE CATALOG.
^^ This about sums it all up.
Maiden>Metallica end of discussion.
Yes, Iron Maiden used to lease their plane from Astraeus. Unfortunately, the airline close in November 2011, which means that, if they wish to use Ed Force One again, they will have to lease a plane from a different airline.
They're both tremendously successful around the world
A part of his family actually live were I live, Hartlepool!
Bruce Dickinson was the band's long time lead singer. When he left the band in 1993, they hired Blaze Bayley with whom they recorded two albums. Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di'Anno in 1981. Since then Bruce seems the best fit for the band's leading vocalist. Since then he left the band. In his absence Blaze got the job for 2 albums from 1993. Iron Maiden reunited with Bruce in 1999.
Each member owns and uses many, but the ones they favor the most are:
Steve Harris: '71(I think) Fender Precision, used over the last 30 years and underwent several paint jobs, currently white with the West Ham logo
Dave Murray: '63/'57(body from 63 and neck from 57) black Fender Stratocaster.(formerly owned by Free guitarist Paul Kossof)
Adrian Smith: white Jackson San Dimas signature model. Also Strats and Les Pauls.
Janick Gers: Stratocasters. He favors a couple of vintage ones, not sure of the years, one black the other white.
I have only heard 2 songs where Iron Maiden have sworn, both songs are on the brutally underrated "No prayer for the dying" album .On "Holy smoke", and on the opener "Tailgunner".
... actually in tailgunner, the lyrics are "Nail that Fokker kill that son" a Fokker was a plane in WW1 (or 2 I don't remember) there are no curse words in the song at all, which leaves only "Holy Smoke" and yes they curse in that... ~ KillerBeeZ
AC DC sold more albums in general than Metallica did, so AC DC is more popular; plus, AC DC's music is much more fun, Metallica's music is kind of annoying after
awhile.
Clive was fired for his unreliability. According to the band, Clive was letting his partying affect his performance on stage (which Steve Harris has always maintained is unforgivable). Clive himself, however, denies this, stating that he was fired after bailing out of the tour to attend his father's funeral. It doesn't seem likely that that would be the only reason for his dismissal, but Bruce Dickinson has since commented that he regrets the way in which the band handled Clive.
Muse released their last album in 2009 "The Resistance". Muse are currently in the process of maiing a new album. Matt Bellamy, the front man of Muse says that the new album will be "more relaxed" than previous albums, due to the birth of his son, Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy.
Unfortunately, Nickelback has by quite a bit.
The highest attendance for an Iron Maiden concert is something I couldn't find, but I would guess that it was at the 1988 Monsters of Rock Festival, which was approximately 107,000, the biggest crowd in the festival's history.
In 1981 the band was formed by Lars Ulrich by placing an advertisement in the Los Angeles newspaper "The Recycler". The guitarist James Hetfield and Hugh Tanner answered the advertisement and joined.
Determining a vinyl record's value has many parts:
Each vinyl platter would have to be evaluated by one who is well versed in such things.
Given Blondie/Deborah Harry vinyl prices as an example:
an early 1976 12" album is worth $10;
a late 1998 (the year they switched to CD) vinyl album is also worth $10;
an early 1976 7" single is worth $20;
a late 1998 7" single is worth $5.00.
"Spiral Scratch", (1990/before CDs) the definite UK price guide to vinyl gives the following values:
a 12" album is worth $3-$8 or 2-5 GBP and a 7" single is worth $3-$10 or 2-6 GBP .
Nsync have reported albums sales of 50 million, while Iron Maiden have 90 million.
Benjamin Breeg is the name of a fictional character crated by the band Iron Maiden, His character traits are made up of those taken from past and present Band members (Iron Maiden).
Benjamin Breeg took part in a marketing plan, were Iron Maiden got a marketing website
to set up a web page of a guy claiming to be Mr. A Breeg.
The website further describes this Benjamin Breeg character and Mr. A breeg 's(fictional also)
ongoing search for Benjamin (his cousin).
Pictures of Benjamin Breeg seem to suggest that he is Eddie the Head under a different name- Probably what Eddie the Head was called when he was first alive.
I call it marketing because I have traced the website back to its creator, a web hosting company specializing in this form of marketing. I then traced five IP addresses back to five different official Iron Maiden web sites. e.g. ironmaiden.com, eddies mega store...
This is difficult to compare considering Iron Maiden and Radiohead are from different periods. Iron Maiden formed in the 70's and were popular for their time. Radiohead was popular during the 90's, however they had very few singles released.
Iron Maiden, because they're popular in nearly every country on Earth.
