What is the value of a Winchester Model 42 410 gauge pump shotgun with the original box the gun came in and magazine plug This shotgun is a standard grade with a modified choke and is in very good con?

The pricing guide I am loking at gives a value of a 98% gun, that's one in very good condition, as $1350 . That's a retail price, at a gun shop. I suspect, though, if you were to sale it on one of the aucton sites you could do better.

Where can you find information about a 16 gauge Sears Ranger pump shotgun?

Look for more information on the Ranger shotgun. I have a Ranger 16 ga Pump whch was my dad's gun. The model number is 102.25 and is found on the left side just above the trigger guard. Look to see if your weapon has a similar marking. This may help in finding info. I believe the gun I have dates from the early 1930's. -- Stevens -- These were Stevens 520 shotguns built for Sears before World War 2. sales@countrygunsmith.net

What is the approximate age and value of a Sears-Roebuck 22LR Model 282 bolt action rifle?

I recently inherited one of these. The model number is 282.527740. The barrel also has Made In Brasil Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos inscribed. The factory was in Sao Paulo. Remington purchased 49.99 % of the company in 1936, according to Remington's Comapany History web site. I would love to know how old this firearm is as well as the value. The one I have also was equipped with a clip.

I cannot answer your question outright, but I can help some. According to Gunpartscorp.com the original manufacturer is FIE and the original model number was the 122. This cross reference may help you on you way. I to have one of these old beauties, a great shooter I might add. I have a question for you. Is the model number 282.527740 or 282.5227740 ? I'll keep an eye out for your post. As you can see I too am looking for information on mine.

Who made the Model 31 22 caliber semi automatic rifle for J C Higgins for Sears and Roebuck?

It was made by High Standard.

Extra Stuff:

Evidently High Standard made this exact rifle only for Sears. I never saw the Model 31, or anything much like it under any other brand name or in the High Standard line up. It really was great. It had a massive magazine (probably illegal now) and would fire at almost a machine gun rate with never a hangup if you used longs.

does anybody know the estimated value of this rifle. I have been told that this particular rifle was a presentation piece and only very few where ever manufactured. My father received this rifle as a gift from the hunting editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper (brand new and in the box)in the 1950s or very early 1960s. the forearm stock extends to the back of the receiver of the weapon. I have been to numerous weapons dealers, gunsmiths and firearms catalogs; and although i have found the the weapon, the references never picture the forearm stock extendinding back to and over the receiver. It was also suggested to me that it may be possible that the newspaper may have had these custom made for presentation to dignitaries.

could someone please help me? i would greatly appreciate your efforts.

thank you,

There were a lot of the Model 31 made in four versions and a few that were engraved. None were made specifically as persentation pieces .

What is a sears ranger 22 cal SLR with 10235 on it worth?

I just purchased the exact slide action rifle for $100.00. It is in good mechanical condition with a good barrel bore. However, the blueing is very warn. I love the looks of a well used but trustworthy and fairly accurate condition rifle.

It is worth every dime if you like it. Don't sell it. They don't make these any more.

What is the value of a Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Patented Oct 7 1879 Winder Musket 22 short third model serial 128514 some blue left but gun stills functions and shoots?

Is that "Fair" condition according to NRA standard grading? For an antique, this means it may not work: has been repaired, altered, or refinished: or has less than 30% of the original finish. If so, the Blue Book says $200 for "below average" and I suspect that is about right for that condition. It also says $800 for one in 95% condition, but I don't believe you could find a high-condition example for twice that. Oops! Your gun is not an antique as that serial number falls somewhere in the area between 1913 and 1923 during which the annual cutoffs were not recorded. I still think it's worth more than the Blue Book suggests. NRA Fair condition would now require the gun to function safely, but it could still be in pretty sorry shape.

What is the value of a 12 gauge JC Higgins Model 583.17?

This is a strange shotgun to price. Sears issued a recall on it several years ago and offered $160 if you sent them the bolt.

When was a Newport model WN 16GA single barrel shotgun made and what is it worth?

Could have been made any time from the early 1900's up to about 1960. The guns were made by Crescent, Harrington & Richardson, and Iver Johnson for sale by Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. Value today is $35-$75, maybe $100+ if absolutely like new.

What is the age and value of a 16 gauge JC Higgins Model 583.8 bolt action?

I can't locate this number in the cross-reference, but the JC Higgins name was used from 1908 to 1960. A store-brand bolt action shotgun will bring $75 to $125, depending on condition. your gun was made by H&R for sears High standard in 1946
