i have a 2004 jeep liberty limited and i belive its the same for all kj libertys. Withe the governor in place the car tops out at 105mph. Without it im not sure the speedometer goes to 120 so possibly that.
The airbag warning light is indicating the airbag(s) may NOT be functionig. As it says in the manual, "Ignoring the AIRBAG warning light in your instrument panel could mean you won't have the airbags to protect you, (or your passangers), in a collision...have the airbag system checked RIGHT AWAY." Always wear your seatbelt!!! On my 2004 there is a light on the passanger grab bar that indicates the passanger airbag is off. This happens when a child is in the seat to protect the child from the sudden force of an airbag. It can also be fooled by a package or briefcase on the seat. This is normal. When an adult sits on the passanger side the light should go off. This information was an addition to the 2004 manual.
Sounds Like You Have a Bad Universal Joint In The Drive Shaft.
Also somewhere in the drive trane there is a lack of Grease. Have
it serviced and greased, but first have the universal joints checked
and replaced if they are bad. Also check all Steering parts, and replaced
if needed. Good Luck
Undoubtally you do not have an owners manual. I would think it would mean (Check Engine) That means you have a problem.
6-21-08 Just had mine replaced at an auto glass dealer. They got regulator from Jeep dealer for $170 and installed it for another $55. Felt it was a fair price.
03-24-09 I bought a new regulator on EBay for $99.00. I replace it myself - it took me about 35 minutes to complete. 1)Take off door panel, remove the speaker and nylon covering 2) remove bolts holding the regulator and motor to door 3) remove metal pin (slides out) holding window to nylon plate 4) disconnect power cable from motor 5) slide old regulator module through large hold at top of door 5) Have some one hold the window in up position (or tape it up) 6) put new unit into door through same hole 7) attach power cable 7: bolt unit and motor to door 8) slide window down and reposition on nylon plate and replace metal pin to hold window to unit 8) replace nylon covering, speaker and door pannel.
Note; after it is put back together if the door doesn't open from inside of car you accidently engaged the child proof lock
This took me about 35 minuts, required no special tools and i am not a "mechanic" My local Jeep dealer wanted $307.05 to do this.
try checking the battery
on this jeep some people say you should take off the bumper:} But after many headaches, if you look on the fire wall below battery not under you will see a few hoses and wire harness it is right there 2x3 inches unplug. the new one will probably be bigger and heat sync that will actually work also only has one hole and one tit, screw one screw in and mark were tit is and drill or cut it off!!! What fun I think they found that the old one did not disapate heat since they used no electrc greese Better idea finally
Look inside the wheelhouse you'll see plastic rivits holding the flare. Cut the heads off them. The rivits are a one time use. Then reach you hand into then bumper. There should be 3 clips going from flare into the cover. Squeeze them to release them from cover. Now you should only have the plastic clips holding the flare to the metal 1/4 panal. I would just pull hard to remove it, and replace the clips. But you can try to use a small pick to release the clips from their sides, if you need to try to save the clips. But even the pros still break a few...

The IAT sensor is usually located within the air cleaner. Use the owner's manual to learn how to locate the airÊcleaner and any other part.
you must mean a 2002 Jeep Liberty, but it's on the right hand side as you face the engine with the hood up. look down between the drive belt, and it's behind the belt.
You need to replace the blower motor resistor. It is a circuit that uses different resistors for different speeds. They routinely burn out....
If you no longer have the remote key you will need a transponder (chip) key. You can get one from the dealer, or there are some other places that sell them. You will have to use that key in the Drivers door to unlock the door and this will disarm the alarm.
To remove the gas tank on the 2004 Jeep Liberty Unlimited, you will begin by draining the tank completely. Remove the battery cables from the vehicle so that there is no chance of spark. Then, remove the gas tank straps from below the vehicle.
Not indicated on the fuse panel, may be powered by the body control module.
Fuse Panel Description
The fuse panel diagram is in your owners manual, if you don't have one, go to Jeep.com and download it for free.
Start with the silver cover in the center by the shifter, it pops off by hand. Unbutton the boot for the four wheel drive shifter, remove the screw that is hidden and the whole boot comes off, remove power window assembly in the front from the front, a small screwdriver will help- wiggle it back through the entire plastic assembly. the rear power window assembly will get unplugged and the cover in the front. Now there are a few screws left to remove, two under the CD storage area and one by the shifter that are easily visable. After this your ready to pull up from the back seat area and get the entire console to come up and out- it may require shifting the four wheel drive gearshift and pulling up on the emergency brake- after some working it will come out.
