How much gas will a jeep need to go 85 miles if it takes 20 gallons and gas is 1.85?
To more accurately answer this you would need other information about the jeep, like the type, make, engine type/size/condition, is it full time 4 wheel drive, ect. In general most jeeps probably get about 15-20 miles per gallon on the highway. * The 20 gallons used in the question is irrelevant so It is not needed to answer the question. * Using a mileage figure of 15 mpg (miles per gallon); 1. that jeep would use 5.6 gallons of gas (85 miles/15mpg) to go 85 miles 2. 5.6 gallons of gas @ $1.85 per gallon would = $10.47 to drive that jeep 85 miles.
How does a heater control valve work in a car?
A heater control valve is simply a water valve which allows more or less water to circulate through the heater core, depending on how much the valve is opened.
When the engine warms up it heats coolant (mostly water) in the water jacket of the engine. To keep the engine from overheating, the water pump circulates water through the radiator once the engine temperature reaches the set-point of the thermostat.
When it's cold outside the engine STILL reaches a temperature that allows you to make use of the engine heat when you open the water valve of the heater.
Heater control valves take many forms but basically they all do the same thing; they open to allow heated engine coolant to circulate through the heater core or they close to stop the coolant from flowing.
Heater control valves can be manual (cable controlled or even lever controlled), vacuum (which allows the engine vacuum to control the position of the heater control valve based on where you set the control knob) or electrical which allows for greater flexibility and even allows the auto manufacturer to connect the heater controls to a computer or other electronic control device.

Fuel pump location on 2001 jeep tj?
I have a 2005 tj . i done a engine swap to a Chevy v8, with a mechanical fuel pump. I had to disconnect the electric pump that is located inside the fuel tank . You can remove the tank straps on either side of the fuel tank to lower it enough to get access . But it is still not very light empty, so i would hold it up with jack stands . On the top of the fuel tank is a locking ring . You can remove this with a punch and a shop hammer. Becareful there is an o-ring under the locking ring. Try not to cut or lose this o-ring you will need it to seal the tank back off.

Where is the horn in your jeep?
there are 2... one each behind each front headlight. you'll have to remove the grill (i think) and front headlights to get to them. it's actually very simple and only requires a Phillips screwdriver and a basic ratchet and either 10mm or 13mm socket (i can't remember which). I've only had to do it once but i know that there are a few screws around the headlights (very visible... right on the front and side lenses) and once you get the lenses out you'll see 2 nuts basically holding the whole headlight pod in place. you should be able to see the horns at this point.

Oh JOY! So you must have a Jeep somewhere between 1987 & 1992 or 3 (I forget which year they moved the internal slave outside). Basically pull the Xfer case & transmission & bell housing so it can be accessed. Might as well think about a new clutch while you are in there too. It ain't fun! A poor design by someone out of touch with reality!
